No argument however Canada has to maintain a rail system that is 43000km long while Norway (4200km) & Sweden (11000 km) combined have a system 1/3 the size. The reality is the railway money has to maintain the complete system not just the Toronto Ottawa corridor
I was objecting to the characterization that Canadian infrastructure needs and European or Japanese infrastructure needs were comparable. The existing travel between Toronto and Ottawa does not approach the utilization of any of the other corridors he cited as examples either.
And if you travel outside of Canada then you also realize that your comparisons to Europe and Japan are ridiculous. Japan and Europe are both smaller in area with bigger populations (tax bases) and operate with a single time zone not 5.
Except it doesnβt
The 1.4% increase referenced in the story is just since he took office in January. However, I think you're correct that seems low based on my experience and what others I know say they're experiencing. Regardless of the actual number denying people's lived experience isn't going to win
No it isnβt the Canadian health act doesnβt cover medication outside of a hospital
Thereβs no WW3 coming China plays the long game and will just wait the US out. Tiawan will eventually shift its economy towards China as the US becomes more and more protectionist and insular.
None itβs an American company
Literally it exists for the convenience of US customs and border control and makes life easier for US airlines. π¨π¦s could care less
So your real complaint is that they allow Nexus holders to use the so called βgoodβ line. So you literally chose to give your personal information to a foreign government because you like the convenience and now youβre whining about a choice you made.
Nexus is a joint US and Canadian government program to make it easier to cross the border between Canada and the US. If you donβt use it to travel to the US why on earth did you choose to apply to a US government program. Canadians donβt need Nexus to fly domestically.
What on earth are you talking about Nexus is a program for travel between the US and Canada. Domestic travel can be done with every kind of Canadian Federal or Provincial issued ID. No Canadian or Provincial ID requires any sharing with the US there are literally multiple programs already
Youβre correct I was mistaken
Itβs the not withstanding clause in the constitution. That idiotic compromise to try to get Quebec to sign
I'm aware it's specifically a program between the US and Canada about crossing the joint border. Literally you have to be cleared by both countries so your question seemed bizarre
Nexus and Global Entry are US customs programs
Trump is imposing tariffs on everyone Canada pays less effective tariffs than any other country except Mexico. 94% of Canadian goods are exemptfrom Trumpy. Poilivere is a sell out and a coward
Fair was it seal skin then I may have to reconsider!
Hmmm maybe if it was a canoe
Not exactly the Premiers were already meeting as planned Carney has asked to join them to update them on July 22nd an emergency meeting would be held immediately not in a few weeks. They can all be on a phone in hours not days
Huh several higher than I expected
Itβs theweather
The tariffs are already applied.
Line ups all over the country!
And yet when you go directly to Mainstreet's website that's not what it shows
www.mainstreetresearch.ca/dashboard/ca...
I just read Canadian flight bookings to the US for April are around 296k down from 1.22m last year a 70% reduction and 500k fewer Canadians crossed land borders with the US in Feb than last year.
You'll find Canadians at war are known to be some of the most brutal, effective and ruthless soldiers out there.
After the First World War many of the atrocities committed by Canadians were outlawed by the Geneva Conventions

His belief is irrelevant the US military won't attack Canada without Congressional authorization which requires 60 votes in the Senate which the Republicans don't have
