Look, that's fair, by far and wide meteorologists have been given basement offices, and that's where I started my career.
The ONE PERSON that could actually benefit the company materially just by having a window, in the basement.

A satellite view of the intense storms that spawned multiple strong tornadoes and large hail in Illinois and Indiana yesterday evening.
A screenshot of a post from Twitter that says "This is from the Kankakee Illinois tornado. 8 inch hail!" with a photo of someone holding said hailstone.
If this is real, and I have no reason to believe it isn't, and it has been preserved, it would be a contender for the largest hailstone ever measured on earth, both by diameter and possibly mass given how clear it looks.
This road is not going to open until Saturday, lol.
bf is in the panhandle for work and my phone keeps turning "haboob" into "kabob" and my texts are awesome.
SPC opted for a Severe Thunderstorm Watch this afternoon until 8 pm. #NC5 #tnwx
If you can palletize / crate heavy stuff to ship separately as non-household goods via LTL, you can achieve some savings.
nothing like opening a group chat and immediately understanding why civilizations collapse
They are already wrecked all over Elk Mountain because of the blowing snow and driving like it's not.

I'd speculate that the most likely resolution there is to promote Iraq from the intercontinental playoffs directly to take Iran's place, and then the semi-final between Bolivia and Suriname becomes a final for that intercontinental spot.
Maybe make that 2-legged?
Yeah, I"m not thrilled that he's staying in the division...especially with our (Bengals) offensive line.
And for all types of forecasting, the 2nd is way more troublesome, like the Three Rivers tornado. Low probability / high risk events.
I mean, tornadoes are the quintessential low prob / high risk event, and they're the most worrying.
I think more helpful in the SPC graphics would be clarifying scattered risk versus conditional risk.
Scattered: These conditions will be pretty spotty, but are very likely to happen
vs.
Conditional: If x, y, and z are all met, a BIG thing is going to happen, but odds are low.

I think about this chart sometimes.
Current radar for Chicago area with warnings and hail all over the place - but now "only" 1 - 1.75" in diameter hail as opposed to earlier
Lake shield finally starting to buckle some and warnings coming into the western suburbs but in increasingly good news: all the warned-for-hail storms out here are for under 2" in diameter. More of a normal time instead of a "why is grapefruit falling from the sky" event #ilwx

My kids both saw their first tornado today, and I wasn't there because I was at the NCAR Radar Technology Workshop. This is right up there with missing first steps, first words, etc. #chasermom

3yo draws on couch and gets in big trouble. Big drama b/c he can't go to an event later. Not the first incident.
Finally get him calm, and the crying has stopped
Mom: Can you tell me what you learned?
3yo: (sobbing) To dance like Mario.
