Thank you! Itβs a great experience and so much more than watching the riders race by. π

I do love riding but lately Iβve been enjoying getting out for some hikes here in the Pyrenees. These mountains are energising.
No - Iβve not heard of it to be honest. Will have to look into it.
Let me know if you need any route advice!
Oh no! Iβm so sorry you got hit with food poisoning while on your adventure! Hope you are able to plot back a return to these magic mountains! ππΌ
It will be interesting to see what the final road repairs will end up like.
Do you like bike travel? Iβm going to be hosting 2 live shows in London on 14 and 15 May. Called Beyond the Bike. Iβll be joined by 3 previous guests of the podcast talking all things Adventure Cycling, as well as film screenings & Q&A. Love to see you there www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/beyond-the...

Part two of our Pyrenees crossing is now out and available. Been great to relive this journey. Part two sees us start with taking on the Tourmalet and then follows is all the way to the Ariège. Love those mountains - even in the clouds a magic place to be. #cycling #adventure #pyrenees
Thank you! Oooh what an awesome part of France youβve settled in! Still for us to discover but very keen to so so. Everything we have heard about it has been great!
Thank you - glad you liked it! Part two should be out in the next week. Some climbs were definitely slogs and it was very different to riding these roads on our lightweight road bikes. Definitely felt like we earned the views! Looking back on it now and definitely plan to do it in reverse now too
Enjoy!
It was the toughest day of our Raid - approached via the Route de Corniche so Marmare and Chioula first. No lunch to be found other than an overpriced crepe at the top of Chioula. Broken by the time we rolled into camp from Pailheres - then the next morning woke up to a toad under the ground sheet!
It was cold! We did contemplate sleeping in the small hit at the summit but made for a slow descent to a campground near Queriguet. Fog, thunder, rain. Hardest day of our traverse but of course the beat stories come from those days!
Iβm contemplating doing the route in reverse - from the Med to the Atlantic so perhaps Iβll get to see it with blue sky!
Thatβs what it looks like!!! Was a complete white out when I climbed it during our raid traverse! Made for an eerh experienceβ¦descending straight into a thunderstorm!
After some mountain wanderlust?Just in time for the weekend - Part 1 of 3 from our awesome bike adventure across the Pyrenees. This shows the first 4 days of our journey. Leaving the Atlantic, cycling through the Basque Country & reaching Col Aubisque #cycling #pyrenees youtu.be/91KnRth4_hw?...
Part of me died on the final 3kms from the approach via Escot! Do not know how I did that with the panniers strapped on. Never been so broken!
Iβve ridden sections of the V81 and itβs good. Nice use of quiet D roads as well. No need to feel wimpy either - not every ride needs to be a slog up a mountain!
We left from St Jean de Luz as well. Best ride Iβve done
Back in 2023 we cycled across the Pyrenees. Iβd taken loads of footage with a plan to turn it into something. Only took me 18months! Trailer out now and part 1 releases in a few days. The memories this footage brings back are some
of the best Iβve had on a ride #cycling youtu.be/H4a2t78jC20?...

Adventure is a state of mind. Hereβs to sleeping out on a local hill! #Adventure #cycling
Now is a great time to be planning future adventures π

That would have been incredible! Iβve got big plans to do some camping up in the high mountains. Such an energising place to be.

Happy cyclist with the Cirque du Litor in the background.
The mountains. Theyβre always the place I feel most happy. Something about how they never cease to make me feel in awe of nature. Cycling across the Pyrenees is still my most favourite bike adventure Iβve taken. With a loaded bike I was slow, but so SO happy! #adventure #cycling

A 15month bike adventure from Germany to Australia. Thatβs what Madeline Hoffmann did - but her story is so much more than just the physical act of cycling through 23 countries. I especially loved her insights on mindset. A pleasure to feature her for our milestone 100th episode of Seek Travel Ride.
