When the world goes to shit, people do step up. When that happens and you've been busting your ass for years you can either be mad they didn't do it earlier, or you can be proud that you helped lay out a path and recognize that your role is to guide a new leader into their role.
All the more reason why the demand for ICE abolition should be the beginning, not the end.
