I'm still waiting for a pain clinic to send prior authorization requests for back injections and PT to my insurance, despite my last visit on 11/12/2025. I'm experiencing extreme back pain and deteriorating mental health, with only a few tramadol to manage my pain. I'm hurting.

Apparently, my doctor at the Mayo Clinic didn't respond to their requests for further information as to why I needed the CT scan, so they retroactively denied it. I sent copies of the letter & the EOB to my doctor, Mayo Clinics billing office, & their patient experience office. What else can I do?

I was sent an additional denial letter from my health insurance company regarding them retroactively denying coverage for a CT scan done in June at the Mayo Clinic. 🧵 1/2

Me! Got it in one shot.

The lady who did mine kept saying, "You were born with surname x, got married & had surname y, divorced & kept surname y until you remarried, right, and now your surname is z." It didn't seem to me to be that difficult to understand.

I got mine last week, I took my birth certificate, my marriage certificate and divorce decree from my first marriage, and my marriage is from my second marriage. They didn't ask for my social security card.

Today I get an explanation of benefits saying they've determined the CT scan wasn't medically necessary & they're NOT going to pay for it! WTF? Sent the doctor asking help to appeal & a message to Highmark BSBC why this happened! What do I do now?

Got a CT scan, as ordered by my surgeon @ Mayo Clinic, on 6/24/25, & checked with their business office if a prior authorization was needed before doing it. I was told no. CT scan was done & insurance paid. 1/2
