The front wheel is missing the center hub. And regarding the brakes, if the bike is a single speed, it would have coaster brakes — meaning you rotate your pedals backwards to apply the brakes. 🚲

My mom also used to put bread bags on our feet inside our boots — it kept our feet dry, but she did it mainly because it was much easier to slide our feet into the boots. Good memories. 😊
