Edited version of President Obama's words at Reverend Jackson's service.
Jacksonβs life inspires us to take a harder path. His voice calls on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope. Wherever we have a chance to impact, in our schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, or cities, it gives our life purpose, and because if we donβt step up, no one else will.
Yes. Please can we talk? So many of my friends are saying, "I don't want to get bogged down in this. It's too depressing. Let's move on. And I'm there thinking, why won't you help me process this? Not talking about this doesn't make it not real.
Mama and baby cat lying on a blanket completely at ease.
I have been saying this for a while,"If I'm really good in this lifetime, I'll get to come back as a spoiled indoor house cat." These two are living the dream. #Caturday
We "celebrated" the increase in the federal research budget. But the $ isn't flowing. The NIH has so far not received approval to spend any of the research $$.
Everyone should know that Russel Vought, the architect of Project 2025 is behind this.

Cry me a river. Do better.
This. 100% this.
So, cut state's funding to do the work to monitor costs, punish the recipients who are having their cards hacked and eventually throw up your hands and declare "let them starve". Got it.
"Instead of a New Deal, we have a Great Society for white-collar crime, a New Frontier of executive lawbreaking, a No Rich Crook Left Behind." So fucking gross.
Was the magic 8-ball busy? JFC. It's not enough to kill off Americans, let's take everyone out. I hate all of this.
OK. And I do mean this as a serious question. As someone who was never on Twitter but came here after I cut all Meta ties, because I still wanted some connection and news, what I don't understand is why are people still on that platform?
Read all of this. This must stop AND we must prosecute those responsible for crimes against humanity.
Well, your order is wrong, but otherwise, yes.
I have used his guidebooks on my travels and watched his shows on defunded PBS for years, but this is next level. Keep on showing us the way to fight for our beloved country @ricksteves.bsky.social This is not a drill.
I truly loathe people who make teeny tiny page folds in library books. #booksky
Happy Caturday to my Valentine's. #caturday
And yes, I get that my original comment sounds whiny given my privilege. But all of the things I've done have also been isolating. I'm not against doing things that are hard.
I agree, but it is hard. Off all Meta platforms since Nov 2024, and off anything affiliated with Bezos (Amazon, WaPo, Goodreads). Dropped streaming services. I can't boycott MS Office or Google Drive as they are work requirements. I'm considering a new email host, but honestly, it's exhausting.
JFC. Between this and the EPA roll back, they want to kill us all. SCIENCE IS REAL
Of course they are...
Just watched this. Librarians are my heros.
BREAKING: The Epstein survivors are releasing this ad on this Super Bowl Sunday to send the message that they will not βmove onβ from the largest sex trafficking scandal in the world. #standwithsurvivors
How much human suffering and death, while rich people get richer, will it take for people to rise up? Guess we're not there yet. #rage
If any incumbent candidate is brave enough to knock your door; in addition to telling them what your community needs, go ahead and ask how much you are paying them, and how many days they are actually spending doing that work.
What a real president looks like.
Just came from opening night of A Love Letter. Amazing!! #supportlocaltheater
Just voted in the WI Spring Primary election, by early voting in person at city hall. Figured I should do it while I still can. #vote
"But really, itβs all about trying to make sure fewer people vote. Under former (R) WI Gov. Scott Walker, WI passed a strict voter ID law, which one former staffer testified made R legislators βgiddyβ as they discussed how it would make it more difficult for students and people of color to vote."
