Did you make your reading goal this year? I think my count is actually a couple of books short because when I checked Goodreads, there was information missing in the system, so 2 of my books were showing up as blanks. ๐ค #booksky

Last night I had a burst of motivation (and a touch of insomnia) so I posted a new review on my book blog about The Boxing Baroness by Minerva Spencer. Check it out on my blog at the link below!

Another great RPG themed @kickstarter.com campaign to check out. This one ends in 3 hours and is just over 6k short of it's next goal! www.kickstarter.com/projects/roc... #dnd #gamersky
I have been following this game and am excited to see how it plays. It's a Jackbox style online party game + roleplaying, kinda like D&D lite, a little less in depth and less time dedication. Only a week left on the Kickstarter campaign and they are $4k away from the next stretch goal. Check it out!
A green and pink ballgown with pink flowers on a dress form with fairy wings, along side a mannequin head wearing a pink wig and a silver crown with pink flowers.
I haven't had the chance to cosplay as much in the last few years so I don't post cosplay stuff as often as I would like, but I just finished this dress for last week's Beltane Fantasy Cosplay Ball in Albany. I'm pretty proud of it and wanted to share it.

I will continue to also use BM as long as I can. The swaps are less protected (I can't tell if there is actually active site support left), posting books takes more effort since you have to manually add new titles to your shelf, and there are way less people to swap with. But books still move there.
But I do wish they had a better system to trade still usable unpostables, rather than banning them from qualifying for credit swaps.
Or that the BookMooch team would come back and start updating and promoting their site again. Some rules were confusing, but it had good potential.
Sadly, I am one of those who had to add condition requirements to "give a stern talking to" after about the 5th ignored unpostable book received that caused respiratory issues. This limited my swaps because some users will automatically decline a swap with RCs "just to be safe" which is silly to me.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE PaperBackSwap. It has helped me to obtain books that I would have never found locally or affordably. Their user database is unmatched.
I miss when BookMooch was an active page with working posting tools because you could post almost any book. It had a field to list the condition of the book so you could make note of the flaws and let users choose. I still use the site but most users have been inactive 5+ years, so little moves.
I mean, on the one hand, I absolutely understand it. I have a mold allergy and have received books that were posted despite being unpostable that I have had to throw away. But there is a difference between an "oops drink splash" and a "left out in the rain" type of major water damage.
Heads up - This IS an amazon link, so if you are participating in the economic blackout and don't want to give traffic - even on free items - the audiobook is available on Hoopla through your local library!

In current times, I know that many of us have so much to be stressed about. But we have to remember that anyone can make a difference! Check out this interesting collection of true stories of high society women who turned spy and changed the course of WWII. #freebook

I wish more people would understand the difference between OPINION and FACT. Yes, we are all allowed to make personal judgements about things, but those are opinions, and only apply to things you can have opinions about - you can not choose to say a fact is not a fact because you don't vibe with it.
Help decide on the next book for my reading group! We just finished our Feb read so it's time to start planning the next one. I added books from a few different genres including fiction, non fiction, whimsical, and historically relevant.

I don't think you understood what I said. I was pointing out that anyone old enough to have unfettered access to the internet has most likely used generative AI, whether they realize it or not. Yes, some younger people most assuredly have as well. But it's likely that every adult or adolescent has.
Ballot boxes were burned in several states, and machines were clearly hacked - districts where workers saw record voter turnout officially reported "low voter turnout." Countless votes were lost. T fully expected to lose (and had a plan for it) but colluders took steps to make sure it didn't happen.
Respectfully, if you truly believe that 38% of our population chose to opt out on such an important and divisive election, their propaganda is working on you too.
I'd be willing to bet that there's very few people above the age of 14 that this truly describes, despite what they may think. There are so many things out there that have used Gen AI for years, before most people were aware of what it was. Like all those photo transform filters on social media.
I'm not saying people should be freaking out or scared to fly. But their concerns are legitimate. And using selective statistics to minimize them isn't doing anyone justice. The amount of serious mishaps with US passenger planes in the last 30 days is absurd and someone needs to be asking questions.
2024 aviation accidents WORLDWIDE resulted in 318 fatalities. In the first 1.5 months of 2025, US based accidents have killed 85. That means that in just over a month, US aviation fatalities have exceeded a quarter of last years worldwide total. This is the deadliest year for US aviation since 2011.
People's trepidation is still perfectly valid. You are looking at statistics but all you are noting is "accidents with fatalities" and not fatality counts, and the significant difference due to the fact that 2 of the accidents so far this year were passenger planes, which hasn't happened since 2022.
Mine is a BP medication that I take to control tachycardia. The problem is that it lowers BP, and I already have naturally low BP. They had previously considered doubling the dosage, so I knew I wasn't at the prescribable max, but the experience was enough to tell me it was a bad idea.
That's why I ordered one.
Well, that and because of the one time I DID take my meds twice... I wasn't feeling good one day, so after taking med, I fell back asleep, then when I got up, on auto pilot took med again. That was not a great day.
