πŸ“£ New Website! After years of using a Google Sites page I built a long time ago (and was never quite happy with), I finally have a website that looks a bit more polished and feels β€œfancier” thanks to Claude: ariedamuco.github.io

Israel is bombarding, literally bombarding, two Middle East capitals, Beirut and Tehran, killing 100s of civilians, and yet the US and UK media continue to portray Iran as the threat to the region.

Israel has nukes, but Iran is the nuclear threat.

We live in Orwellian times.

For International Women's Day 2026, the Austrian "Kronen Zeitung" had the great idea to plaster its cover with (exclusively white) men who oppose violence against women.

And I thought #iwd26 was about highlighting women's achievements. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

He Researched Dishonesty. He Got Friendly With Jeffrey Epstein.

This reminds me of the guy at my previous-previous job who was under investigation for multiple cases of sexual harassment – so he escaped laterally (and up!) into an ethics fellowship at Stanford!

This animated map shows us the aftermath of the Super Bowl. A huge exodus of private jets from the Bay Area airports began. We departures from five local hubs (SFO, OAK, SJC, LVK, and HWD) between 3:00 and 10:00 UTC. Source: buff.ly/rDqj0p6

Screenshot of a CNN segment shared by Acyn. A split-screen shows commentator Lydia Moynihan on the left and Kevin O’Leary on the right during a heated exchange. The chyron reads, β€œObama: Dems need to avoid scolding and β€˜virtue-signaling.’” The post quotes O’Leary referencing China and concentration camps, and McGowan responding about West Virginia.

I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.

Looking forward to this!

In addition, I plan to show how to incorporate AI tools into the workflow and how to organize your projects so they are replication-ready from the start.

Hope to see you there, and please share if you know people who might benefit.

Unfortunately, given the political situation, I’m not planning on traveling to the US. I’m also a citizen of a third country and need a visa. (Trump has made it more difficult for Albanians to get visas.)

I’d be happy to join online if there’s such a possibility.

Very interested. I’m using it right now (integrated with my GitHub) for an old project and I’d be happy to share the good, the bad and the ugly.

Peter Thiel has been open about this for a long time. Trump is a way to break the republic, which can then be replaced by β€œfree economic zones” with oligarchs as dictators and tech as a taskmaster for helpless humans without any rights. (1/2)

"I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible." - Peter Thiel

Yes, Peter decided that the continued existence of our democracies isn't compatible with his desired level of personal freedom.

An absolute enemy of humanity.

In the meantime Gaza keeps getting bombed. Yesterday, over 20 people died. Phase two it’s on the way…

We can only guess how the Gaza riviera will look like in terms of the local population.

You can use earplug. I do it occasionally. Actually in Vienna they give earplugs for free even at β€œfancyβ€œ venues like the Konzerthaus. (Where the music played is supposed to be top notch.)

"Ariely is named 636 times in the more than 3 million additional files released"

β€œThe system made me do it” explains incentives; it doesn’t absolve responsibility. When academics say this, they’re no longer describing the system, they are helping reproduce it.

As academics we have helped perpetuate some of today’s political systems (without sufficient retrospection).

All Americans at this moment, every Conservative and every Liberal, have a wide range of ways in which we can define our values by simply saying: No.

It's unacceptable that the current political class is unable to self reflect.

Consider this code to find how often words appears in a text:

```
all_words = {}
for word in list_of_words:
if word in all_words:
all_words[word] += 1
else:
all_words[word] = 1
```

Many will react to this with:

> "Ah, but you should use ... instead"

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like RenΓ©e Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.
