Namjoon is the city mage of the magical enclave in Seoul and loves his job - most of the time. He doesn't love the people pounding on his door at all hours or the landlord who forces him to use his magic to solve her plumbing problems or his bosses who want him to reroute magic from Namsam without blowing himself up. He loves his job but he doesn't love the way that it makes him feel tired, so tired that he starts fainting. Concerned, his friends hire him an assistant: the quiet and infuriating Min Yoongi who questions everything: Namjoon's life, his priorities, his health and his belief that he is unsuited for love.

They didn't always talk, but when they did, it was always intense in a way Yoongi had never encountered with anyone else. He couldn’t ever fully decide whether it was a good or bad kind of intensity. They argued and bickered, but it wasn't ever angry. He always walked away feeling a bit like he’d been chewing on a live wire, buzzing in his fingertips and his brain. He always felt vaguely hungover the next morning. The things he and Namjoon said would linger in his mind for weeks. It was certainly exhilarating, whatever happened to Yoongi when he and Namjoon actually talked to each other. But he wouldn’t exactly call it comfortable.
