just chose one but there are a few references out there. most of the numbers i have seen are 20-30% of cases of post tavr IE are enterococcal

if enterococci are the most common cause of post-TAVR endocarditis, presumably due to the femoral access, is this a case where peri-operative cefazolin ppx should be replaced by an alternative drug (amp or ampsulbactam?) or have a second drug added? (vanco? *shudders*) #IDsky
