I asked Henrick Rydström about the noticeable lack of Daniel Gazdag against the Fire on Saturday. #Crew96's Designated Player has played 72 minutes through three matches this season.

Yes, you are. Well done.
Here is the metaphor I referred to. Henrick Rydström had a few today but I think thought this one was the best when discussing #Crew96 adjusting to his system to start the season.
Iowa just defeated Maryland, meaning Ohio State faces the Hawkeyes tomorrow to begin the team's Big Ten Tournament run.

He talked about Camacho today.
Both Andre Gomes and Nariman Akhundzada are out at #Crew96 training, as is Dylan Chambost, who was injured in Week 1. No Ibrahim Aliyu, who is expected officially be traded to Houston this week.
Asked if new signings Andre Gomes and Nariman Akhundzada will be available for #Crew96 on Saturday, Rydström said, “That’s what I hear.”
Rydström siad he's used to wining, so not winning, it's like "hmm, that was strange."
Rydström now uses the metaphor of needing to marinate the meat (the opponent) and not playing forward too fast. He said on Saturday against the Fire, "the meat was raw." He said #Crew96 crossed the ball too much against Chicago.
Rydström said he doesn't have a timetable for Mo Farsi's return, but he's taking steps and there's been no setbacks. He said hopefully Farsi will join the team training soon.
Asked about Andre Gomes and Nariman Akhundzada getting to Columbus, Rydström points out that #Crew96 really had no "new blood," which he says they need, to start the season.
Rydström points out that #Crew96 could have won all three games so far without being great. He also points out that they could have lost two of them, including in the last minute against the Fire on Saturday.
Rydström said there always bumps in adjusting to his system. He said sometimes it takes 2-3 months to make that adjustment. He doesn't want to take shortcuts now because that will impact #Crew96 later. He remains confident in what they are doing.
#Crew96 head coach Henrick Rydström compares Wilfried Nancy to a "nice looking ex" for your significant other. He said fans and media are always looking at the very successful coach who came before and compare to him.
What a metaphor!
#Crew96 additions Andre Gomes and Nariman Akhundzada are in Columbus and trained with the team today. Big news for the Black & Gold after the inconsistent start to the season.
This move made no sense for #Crew96 at the time and now they’re essentially paying to send Aliyu back to Houston. Still not sure what role he was supposed to play in Columbus. Very odd.

Statement from #Crew96:
Former #Crew96 midfielder Derrick Jones and defender Yaw Yeboah have been given lifetime suspensions from MLS after betting on games.
Many players would have wanted to draw attention to themselves on Saturday with everything going on. Bruce Thornton was focused on beating Indiana for the first time in his career.
That's among the reasons he's a "Buckeye for life."

After just over two years on the job, Ted Carter has resigned as Ohio State president following disclosure of an inappropriate relationship.

Picard may end up being the 3rd attacking starter. He started the 1st game which, despite the loss was probably the team’s best performance. That 3rd spot is an open issue right now, highlighted by the fact that Gazdag just doesn’t fit.
Aliyu was also a weird signing, just a less expensive one.
Issa was heavily involved with moves before, like Cucho. Picard is a young, exciting player. I think Gomes will be very good.
But the Gazdag move has been a serious misstep.
For a game where very little happened, there will be a lot to talk about on the Massive Report pod on Monday.
Also, we now need to have a serious Gazdag conversation…
