Inititives like this are a huge part of how developers in Canada, Germany, and other countries with such grants were able to wind up such flourishing indie scenes tbh

On the right of the image is a sheer cliff face marked with vertical striations; talus lies at its base. The left of the image is in almost total darkness, and the background is deep space.
This is a cliff on comet 67P/ChuryumovβGerasimenko.
It's about 1 km tall.
If you jumped from the top, it would take you 47 minutes to reach the bottom, and you'd probably be OK.
the idea that some of us should get everything and pay nothing goes beyond our tax structure, with many large and small nations constantly trying to reform the into a burdensome bastion of metropolitan millionaires, exporting nothing except violence. Imo thats the true substance of neocolonialism.
its all extremely socially fraught. Even the basic idea that the point of the economy is NOT just to suck up money on a certain scale of equitable(lol even) is a hard sell. For some reason a lot of countries want to model their society after tax haven micronations or if you're lucky switzerland
money changed me disease
tbh sometimes people get on my nerves talking about the supposed issue with right wing atheists. i genuinely think deciding to be atheist helps people along towards being a better person.

i was kinda under the mistaken impression that the correct way to improve at tekken was to expose everyone's sus offense. if you're not aware, tekken 7 has an unusual abundance of sus offense. as in, consistently reactable but requires a ton of matchup drilling or you're screwed.
i played a lot of tekken 7 ranked. I think as time went on it dawned on me that the idiot mashing law players at low ranks are nowhere near as skilled as the idiot mashing law players at high ranks, and i enjoyed rematching people i couldn't beat.
i think t7 was not joking designed to suck
only a truly brilliant satirist could have created this
tbh it interests me to see hardware expertise live and die in such short time scales. nice to know some people are out there making homebrew games today, some of them are even at the pinnacle of technical gee wizardry tbh.

is that the dealership? Its the service thats expensive. they also generally add a 3x markup or at least 2x for parts, and they might be mixing up paint for you as well.
We need to support our siblings dealing with this, don't let this go under the rug.
oh yeah and being rich but most of us dont need to worry about that ever happening LOL
tbh seems like its generally less accessible to get a publisher to finance your game nowadays. brilliance has always been exceptional, its just that now having someone finance your game is even more exceptional.
tbh the main siren song that turns people conservstive in my experience are the incentives and culture theyre immersed in. having a "career," living in suburbia, living through austerity/neoliberalism, and trying to fit in with conservatives at the workplace or their hobbies
tbh sometimes we dislike the classics because our lives and framing has changed. the way we play cant be preserved as easily as the game itself.
while we're at it, important to remind people coming into the space that a lot of indie games are such huge projects that a major studio would struggle to do something similar without running out of money and exploding.
a lot of them were made by 1-5 people in a few months up to a year, except they had fewer resources, it had to run on a potato, and creative freedom was still compromised.
i think a lot of arcade games were at a pretty high standard
course there are some 20 year old AAA games by now.
