Our spring Twins roster preview at @twinsdaily.com digs into right field today.
In my opinion, the team's most underrated position: twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
Joe Ryan topped out at 93.5 mph in his three-inning spring debut. Two walks, no strikeouts, three swings and misses on 48 pitches.
New @twinsdaily.com: Center field is pretty clearly the strongest position on the Twins roster, featuring the best current player on the team and the best prospects in the pipeline.
Today we break it down: twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
The handling of LF this spring has been interesting, given itβs one of the few βopenβ positions in the lineup.
Martin has started more games there (6) than anyone else
Outman hasnβt started there all spring
Keaschall has now started there twice (!)
Fair points. I will note that Larnach is only one year removed from a 116 OPS+, and has also never shown the kind of downside we saw with Roden and Outman last year. I donβt think Larnach is taking away opportunities from anyone, at worst heβs just delaying them
With how little they've been able to build up in the first half of camp, I could pretty easily envision Ryan or Ober having a delayed start to the season, or least not being quite ready to go on Opening Day.
Wonder who would get the nod in that case. SWR??
Joe Ryan makes his first official spring training appearance tomorrow. The big question: Is he gonna be able to build up adequately in time to start on Opening Day? He'll have a little over two weeks.
Our spring position analysis series rolls on today at @twinsdaily.com with a look at left field. Maybe the most competitive position on the Twins roster. twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
A big question that sticks out to me from this exercise: What exactly is Kody Clemens' role supposed to be?
He's barely played anywhere other than 2B, and he doesn't figure to see much time there in the regular season if Keaschall is healthy.
New @twinsdaily.com, a breakdown of who's been starting starts at each position this spring, and what to make of it. twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
Hot take: Trevor Larnach is underappreciated and it's good that he's on the roster. The Twins paid $4.5M to keep a proven solid hitter around and maximize depth.
(I'm not at all convinced that money would've been reinvested elsewhere if they non-tendered him.)
I believe he went over the service time threshold
Mick Abel was at it again today against Baltimore. 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R. He's up to 10 scoreless innings in 3 starts this spring with 13 strikeouts and, most importantly, ZERO WALKS.
Hype train picking up steam choo chooooo
Knock on wood etc, but dare I say the Twins are on a bit of a charmed health run this spring since Pablo injury? Minor scares for Ryan, Lewis, Buxton but all came out okay. Ober said he felt really good last night. Let's keep this energy going, we need it.
Buxton gets hit by a pitch in first official WBC game, obviously in a lot of pain, stays in initially. Now has been removed.
Hopefully just being cautious, USA is up 6 and they have a pretty great backup CF. Still, canβt make it up man.
Orlando Arcia is starting at SS for the Twins tonight. He's among the candidates to back up Brooks Lee.
I wrote about the outlook for the position today at @twinsdaily.com: twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
Today at @twinsdaily.com, an in-depth overview of third base, where we are all riding the Royce Lewis roller coaster: twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
Heading to Baltimore later this month for Opening Day. Planning to catch all three Twins/O's games.
Will be my first time at the ballpark or in the city. Welcoming any recommendations or advice!
Twins are definitely putting the "increased aggressiveness" mantra into practice in today's spring training game against the Rays.
5 stolen bases through 5 innings. Brooks Lee stole 3rd base.
Second base, led by Luke Keaschall coming off his special rookie campaign, projects to be one of the Twins' strongest and most improved positions in 2026.

Here's my writeup on @twinsdaily.com's #10 ranked prospect for 2026, RHP Charlee Soto: twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
It's early spring training. It doesn't really matter. Still, you don't *love* to see it.
Suns out, snow's melting, and the Yankees are absolutely clobbering Twins pitching. Now it really feels like baseball season.
We're doing our annual spring top 20 Twins prospect down at @twinsdaily.com

How might the Twins lineup come together against RHP and LHP this season? Is there a way to optimize for both offense and defense with the current roster makeup?

Next up in the @twinsdaily.com position analysis series: first base.
Once again the Twins are turning to outside help at a position where they've oddly been completely unable to develop their own talent. twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...
Twins hitters I am especially high on this year:
Lewis - I'm buying into the health and offseason work
Wallner - Took his lumps, now time to click. 40+ HR??
Buxton - Obvious reasons
Clemens - Idk why, I just find myself believing
Each spring I put together a series of in-depth breakdowns for each position on the Twins roster.
Today we kick things off with a look at catcher, where the end of an era meets a new future roadmap.

The key question for Austin Martin this year, same as last year: Do the Twins trust him in center field? If yes, I think he makes the Opening Day roster. If no, I doubt it.
Last year, Martin played pretty regularly for the Twins post-deadline but didn't appear in CF after 8/15.
From last January:
Things have changed greatly in less than a month's time!
Updated guess at Opening Day bullpen for Twins:
Hendriks, Sands, Rogers, Chafin, Topa, Orze, Banda, Festa
