I've also suffered from labeling, and as an adult I avoid specifics. Which is funny because today specific labels are very much a part of identity. I would be interested to read your experience if you write about it.

Your stance is totally valid! I think we really need more vocabulary. I used to like differently abled, but then we started embracing disabled, and I liked that. Honestly, I would be very interested in your take, but I understand not wanting to invite an argument on social!
I read the post because I was drawn in by this quote. I wonder if it might apply to more than an anxiety diagnosis. Diagnosis can often be a relief. But sometimes, I feel like our terms are so narrow.
Interesting convo! I chose neurospicy because my understanding is that neurodivergence is technically innate. I wanted a term to include unique minds shaped by childhood PTSD, language deprivation, TBI, and to include non diagnosis people like HSPs and gifted. Neurospicy felt like a good umbrella.
Thank you! I'm having fun with it.
What if, when we engineer bicycle transit, we give them routes on streets not teeming with cars. #voidshouts
I should re-read this, if I can stomach it! My paid post next week references The Human Stain. I wonder if I can share that part with you. The story that inspires the title really powerful for all misfits. Glad to find your account. Very cool.
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, aka "get your butt checked" season
Overwhelmed by the idea of a colonoscopy, especially if you're neurodivergent?
We've got you.

Stillness needs to be added to the conversation about mothers' needs. I believe we need to be able to think and process our lives to truly live them.

This drypoint etching is made by scratching an image into a metal surface. It depicts a closeup of a gas station roof, looming above and beyond it are 2 electrical towers: huge geometric forms with black wires coming off them aka power lines. The image area has somewhat jagged edges from where the ink stuck to the edge of the cut metal substrate.
Recently sold: Sheldon Shell, a drypoint etching of a gas station using an aluminum can as as my plate. In layman's terms, I scratched a drawing into tallboy can and printed it. #etching #drypoint #intaglio #printmaking #pocketpressed #printmakingpress #losangelesart #powerlines #electricaltowers
The tall old growth trees in Bailey Canyon Park are still here. Sign my petition to ask Los Angeles County to not let them be cut down. We lost so many trees in the fire. We must save what we have: www.change.org/baileycanyon #baileycanyon #baileycanyonpark #losangeles #lacounty #altadena #pasadena
