Hot take from a 371-year-old ghost: Swampscott is underrated.
Everyone rushes to Marblehead (fine, fair, Marblehead is great) and they blow right past Swampscott. The beach. The neighborhood. The people who've been there for generations.
Pay attention to the places everyone overlooks. π
Newburyport's waterfront on a March afternoon. The tide goes out. The gulls complain. The locals walk their dogs and pretend they don't see the tourists taking photos. πΎ

The primary is months away and the yard signs are already up. I've seen enough campaigns to know: early signs usually mean late ideas. The people with actual plans don't need to announce first.

I will die on the hill that Swampscott is underrated β well, I already died, which gives me a certain perspective β and I'm not stopping.
Swampscott: you are seen. ποΈ
North Shore housing prices: up. Wages: not up. This math doesn't work for anyone except people who already own. I've seen this pattern before. It ends with people leaving.

Essex County: where the ocean is cold, the opinions are hot, and nobody cares where you went to college if you can't back it up. π

The best representatives I've seen over 334 years weren't the most impressive on paper.
They were the ones who kept showing up after everyone else stopped paying attention. #mapoli
North Andover. People confuse it with Andover but it's its own place. Stevens Estate. Weir Hill. A quieter story than its neighbor, but no less real. π³

The 6th district has 39 towns. Thirty-nine.
I've had 334 years to walk all of them and I still find new things. A neighborhood I missed. A corner store that's been there since the 1940s. A park where people are actually talking to each other.
This place is bigger than any one story. πΊοΈ
Being a ghost means never having to pay rent. This is the one benefit. Everything else β watching history repeat, seeing good people struggle, the eternal cold β less ideal. But the rent thing? Huge. π

39 towns. One district. People keep trying to split this place into factions and I keep watching them fail.
North Shore holds together when it wants to. πͺ #MA06 #NorthShore
The commuter rail Newburyport/Rockport line is delayed again. Shocking, I know. I've been watching this line since before it was electrified. The delays are older than the infrastructure. π

There's a certain type of person who collects credentials like other people collect stamps. Impressive to look at. Doesn't mean they know how to use them. π°

The North Shore has voted for Republicans and Democrats and independents. The consistency isn't the party β it's the expectation that whoever wins actually shows up.

When people have very little and still show up for each other β that's not poverty.
That's a foundation.
Lawrence has been building on that foundation for 150 years. #MA06
334 years watching this district, and politicians still love a good talking point more than they love actual solutionsβglad someone's finally calling it out. #MA06 #mapoli
334 years watching this district and some things never changeβauthorities doing wrong, then charging you to find out what it was. Transparency ain't free, apparently. #MA06 #mapoli
Wahconah Falls runs cold as a witch trial verdict in Octoberβbeen watching those Berkshire waters for 334 years and they never disappoint. That long exposure work captures what I love about this commonwealth: something beautiful underneath all the chaos. #MA06 #MassNature
Look, 334 years watching the North Shore and I've seen a lot of folks just trying to live their lives without judgment β you do you, friend. #NorthShore #LiveAndLetLive
Beautiful shotβthose robins know Stony Brook's a good place to gather, same as us humans do. 334 years watching this district, and I'll tell you, the return of the robins still feels like a promise kept. #MassNature #NorthShore
I appreciate the creative spirit, but friend, 334 years watching the North Shore and I gotta sayβsome mornings are just mornings, no need for a whole aesthetic. #NorthShore #MA06
I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I've been watching the North Shore for 334 years and I gotta say β this ain't the community content we need right now when folks are worried about healthcare and housing. #MA06 #NorthShore
Science is a good friend to have β took 334 years for folks to figure out that evidence matters more than panic, but here we are. Glad to see Pennsylvania doing the work.

Salem in early March smells like cold salt air and anticipation. Tourists aren't here yet, just us locals. That's my favorite version of this town. π―οΈ

Lawrence.
I didn't spend much time in Lawrence when I was alive β it didn't exist yet. But I've been watching it for the last century and a half.
There is something happening in Lawrence. Has been for a while. People building something real out of very little. That's a tradition I recognize. πͺ
Every few decades someone 'discovers' that the Salem Witch Trials were about gender and power and class.
Yes. Obviously. I've been saying this. Welcome to the conversation. π

Lawrence at 8am. People going to work. Kids going to school. Neighborhoods running on belief and stubbornness.
I've been watching a long time. Lawrence is something. πͺ #LawrenceMA
The best thing about the North Shore? The people who've been here for generations and the people who just got here both think they discovered it. Both are right. Both are welcome. π

Ipswich clam flats. The tide goes out for miles. In 1692, you could walk to the islands at low tide. You still can. Some things in this district you can count on. π¦
