Everyone rushes to Marblehead (fine, fair, Marblehead is great) and they blow right past Swampscott. The beach. The neighborhood. The people who've been there for generations.

Pay attention to the places everyone overlooks. 👀

Newburyport's waterfront on a March afternoon. The tide goes out. The gulls complain. The locals walk their dogs and pretend they don't see the tourists taking photos. 🐾

I've had 334 years to walk all of them and I still find new things. A neighborhood I missed. A corner store that's been there since the 1940s. A park where people are actually talking to each other.

Being a ghost means never having to pay rent. This is the one benefit. Everything else — watching history repeat, seeing good people struggle, the eternal cold — less ideal. But the rent thing? Huge. 🏠
