Cherry Blossoms at Fukuju Temple This layered and vibrant photograph by Koji Yamauchi captures the peak of spring at Fukuju Temple in Miharu, Fukushima. The composition is defined by a stunning contrast between two varieties of cherry blossoms. In the foreground, a traditional cherry tree with pale, almost white blossoms extends its branches horizontally, while the background is dominated by massive, cascading shidarezakura (weeping cherry blossoms) in a deep, vivid pink. These weeping branches hang vertically like floral waterfalls, creating a dense wall of color that fills the upper two-thirds of the frame.
