The idea of "growing by breaking things" implies a concept of "shrinking by fixing things" which also sounds fun. A DIY game about fixing things about the house as each successful project you get smaller and have to get more creative with your tools and traversal.

My other thought was a dark purple, viscous, bubbling slime. Thinking like how you get when chuchus mix in twilight princess.
