It's encouraging to see organizations refuse federal funding rather than given in and change basic human decency standards. It's also good to see universities get backbones. But if federal funds foregone are replaced with private funds, oligarchs have stolen our tax money.

That was my first reaction as well.
Wonder what's going to happen to the US bond rating? Not paying vendors based on agreed-upon contracts seems like a bad sign for potential investors. And talk of just not paying off some debt seems worse.
