When you're panicking because your oldest cat (a known escape artist) is missing and your wife is gone so you think he ran out the door. Texted in a panic. Nope, no reason to panic, he just went to get coffee with her so he can get a pup cup.

what is the largest animal you are confident you could expel, singlehandedly, from a medium-size bookshop?
RULES:
- you have no resources beyond what is available in the shop
- you must remain more or less uninjured
- bookshop has 2 floors; animal is on ground floor, you can choose where you begin
For those that think voting makes no difference in certain cities, states & districts, Mayor-elect Andy Thompson just won the Boca Raton election by 5 votes.
The incumbent GOP mayor won in 2018 with just under 64% of the vote, 89% in 2020, and ran unopposed in 2023.

Five cut-out-and-keep bookplates Each reads βex-librisβ then has a space for the owners name. The design reflects the genre: Sci-fi: Nanotechnology tracks the book, monitors its condition and summons a retrieval drone if necessary. Horror: An ancient curse creates feelings of unease, rising to apalling, abject horror unless the book is returned. Romance : Acts as an invite to the county's grandest ball, but revoked if not returned in a polite and timely manner. Crime: Tailed by a dishevelled Gumshoe who Seems cynical, but loves books more than dames and bourbon. Fantasy: A fellowship of heroes lead the borrower on an epic quest to return the tome to its Rightful shelf.

I am a millenial who just doesn't grow up, so I made GIFs. Behold:
Hrm what kind of space movies? Are we talking suspense/drama, space opera, hard sci-fi...?
Did I need another t-shirt?

Oh dear god, what fresh hell is this now?
Listen to Black women, follow their lead.
I could list so many examples, but the point is the two go hand in hand and usually are used to justify or reinforce each other (more recently, note the birther movement). Whiteness is diminished by not being Protestant, and racism is reinforced by fear of the "pagan" or religious "heresy".
Racism and religious bigotry have always been intertwined in our history. It was part of the anti-Irish and anti-Italian sentiment in the 19th century, a key premise behind Manifest Destiny which drove our westward expansion, and a given in how colonists interacted with the Native groups.
It's the worst combinationβtired and goal-orientedβisn't it?π
It's Friday the 13th, do you know where your Jasons are?
I honestly don't know the context but please rest/pace yourself and don't feel pressured! I think I speak for everyone when I say we'd all rather have a delay in any finished product than you pushing yourself past a breaking point. You deserve to enjoy your art! π
1. Jewish civilians and synagogues should NEVER be the target of political violence related to Israel. It's really unfortunate I have to keep saying that
2. This development needs to worry every American, because attacks inside the US only empower the worst aspects of the national security state
Always in grocery stores. I'd stop to let someone pass in front of me and get a dirty look, I'd make space on the conveyor belt for the person behind me and lay down the divider so they could unload their cart and they'd comment to their shopping buddy speculating about my mental health. Bizarre.
When I lived in deep Trump country from 2022-2025, it really and truly seemed like people were outright triggered by me observing the basic courtesies of interacting with strangers in public while masking. Like my acknowledging that I live in a world with other people really did just enrage them.
Gave it a listen, I think I have a new crafting podcast! I like the length of the episodes...I think I will indeed have fun with this one, thanks for sharing it!

I learned about a brilliant project yesterday to support British Sign Language (BSL) users, creating new signs for scientific terms in chemistry, oceanography, data science & more.
And they're fabulously descriptive. Do have a look and share!

We also need to have a public discourse clarifying among ourselvesβlawmakers and citizens alikeβwhether the Constitution truly is "the highest law of the land", or if there are times when it can be disregarded. We need to examine that both as individuals and as a society.
