So here's something I honestly didn't know before: a heck of a lot of standup comedians are still editing/writing their show the night before. I honestly just thought I was just shit and unorganized.
I mean, I probably AM shit and unorganized but I don't think the shows are. Mostly.

This looks incredible. I've been waiting on getting it until after I've sorted my shit out so it's like a reward. Can't wait โค๏ธ
I made it onto a pick of the Fringe list ๐๐๐ super flattered and a bit scared. Now I REALLY have to make sure it's a good show
What Unboundโs demise has shown, to a quite alarming degree, is how little tangible, active advocacy is available to authors in this situation, say the authors affected by the collapse of Unbound in our recent Comment piece ๐ #BookSky
This is patronising and offensive. Our contracts were breached, we were lied to and we DID do our due diligence before committing to them. This whole piece reads as victim blaming, and is very disappointing to read from this website in particular.
K well now I've just been reminded of the time you had a lasagna sandwich and I'm wondering what's wrong with me for kind of wanting one
That idea where there's a mini tutorial for people who haven't picked up the game in a while: but for literally anything in the Adobe Suite. ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ฎโ๐จ
Yes! We did the work to crowdfund from backers who believed in us and our writing. Unbound/Boundless stole that money
Even me who pulled my rights am owed part of the 50/50 split of the overfunding.
Where the hell did all that cash go? They won't give us a straight answer and it's infuriating.
So, this Unbound/Boundless fiasco. I was going to be polite about it, but after this morningโs email: no
Was just saying to the other shafted authors (I've in no manner been shafted to your extent ๐ก) how they made us feel reassured, like everything would be okay. They made us feel like we were the only ones complaining, so we felt rude and awkward and didn't talk to each other and share our nightmares.
This is awful. When they took on my project, your project was pitched to me like "look at how much money we made THIS author" I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't the only would-be author who heard that.
Absolutely infuriated for you, and every author affected. We put our soul on paper for this.
Gonna burn some bridges and talk about Unbound, since it's unlikely that they'll sue me at this point. They seem to have spent money that was supposed to go towards royalty payments, expecting money to come in, which then didn't bsky.app/profile/laur...

#unboundless
Thankfully, I got my rights back last week after months of practically begging.
Hoping Boundless don't make things harder for authors trying to get their rights back now. Mr Mitchinson has walked off into the sunset while authors relying on being paid can't afford to live.
It's not okay.
The pyramid scheme publishers Unbound [now Boundless] have finally gone live with their new website so take this opportunity to find out what they've done with all of your pledged money.
THREAD. Last year, the publisher of my most recent books, Unbound, stopped paying its authors money contractually owed for earned royalties and advances. Again and again, we were promised, falsely, that the money would soon be with us...
My gut feeling is that the best way to respond to a hideously ungenerous act - e.g. a publisher who still owes you a five figure sum and who has taken a much bigger sum from your readers and, in its new guise, is refusing to refund it - is not with a spiteful one but a generous one. Hence: this.
#Boundless (with two former #Unbound managers in their senior team) has not refunded Unbound pledge money or paid authors money already earned. Something to consider before signing with Boundless. However much you want to get published, however great a company seems, this kind of mess can happen.
Will update when I can. The whole thing is a mess.
Editor note in my book edit: "there's a lot of calling characters dickheads, wankers and gits in this section. Might be good to tone it down a bit.'
You can take the bloke out of The North...
Does anyone actually do anything between Xmas a new year? How?
If I know a delivery is coming at 4pm, I hyper fixate can't do anything productive at all until it shows up. It's kind of like that with new Year for me ๐
Ah, so the singular! My theory is that ours started with "ummm" and evolved into a plural "ommerrrrs!" Plural is always more serious I guess ๐
Oh!!!! I wonder if that's where it came from? Because we also said we were gonna "get done" ๐
Surprised at the similarity! We used "getting aggy" though, which no disrespect to you made more sense because it's short for aggravated โบ๏ธ here is my eggy rat
I tried to replicate my rat (pictured) Truffle Oil M.D.'s look of forlorn confusion he uses so often. Think I smashed it tbh
The frantic little leggies is a daily occurrence at mine ๐
Question:
What was the weird word you used at primary school when someone was about to get in trouble?
We had "Ommers", with the "er" sound made longer depending on how much the kid had fuked up. I grew up in North Yorkshire.
Interested to hear if it's different in other parts of the UK <3
Aww thank you โบ๏ธ
