I promise I am not an alfoil hat type, but it would not surprise me in the least if #Trump decided to sacrifice one of his most faithful, with a trained sniper, to justify military coercion and distract from #Epstein. #Kirkgate just saying. #conspiracy101.

Dutton could exert funding influence over schools, but curriculum a can of worms - ABC News

The dismantling of education is on the agenda in Trump like style. Think about that when you vote. An educated populace is much harder to manipulate. #auspol

Community sport for children n needs an overhaul and parent coaches need far more training.

And then there’s the time I complained to the coaches when he was just 10 that another player was repeatedly calling him a C word - their response? β€˜Some kids can’t handle the banter’

And then there’s the β€˜if he can’t control his emotions he shouldn’t be playing’ as if 15 year old boys can’t resent being yelled at and forced to comply.

This is what I am experiencing as a parent of a child with a disability competing in local district basketball. Coaches yelling at players who are under 18, using exertion as a punitive consequence for non-compliance - think β€˜suicides’ and pushups. Even the language works me.

Are there any good follows that don’t involve American politics. I keep finding myself down that depressing rabbit hole.

Don’t feed the trolls. They tend to get territorial and start using playground tactics like name calling, making racist tirades about uber drivers and calling people gay. Not worth the oxygen, my friend!

The hardest thing about #sobriety, for me anyway, is the clarity with which memory returns. The replaying of reel after reel of moments I tried to annihilate in the first place. A constant parade of humiliation, shame and regret. And the need to overshare. Apologies.

β€˜Teachers are describing something different’: the escalating culture of misogyny in Australian classrooms | Jess Hill Alongside stories of increasing β€˜performative toxicity’ among boys, teachers say this generation is also the most switched on ever. Can education really change student behaviour?

A historic graphic of corruption.

The 11 federal agencies so far targeted for firings or dismantling by Elon Musk have more than 30 ongoing investigations into his companies.

This is my β€˜almost end of January’ read. Set a target of one book a month because I don’t get enough time to read, so I am making time. Exceeding this target! I chose this purely for the title and a celebrity review! So was dubious, but it does not disappoint. Compelling from the first page.
