Side 1: Images surrounding “an agent’s guide to BEYOND THE MIST, Laurel Grant, adult fantasy 105k words”: female mermaid, bridge over a river, glowing hands on a tree trunk, cavern, male sailor aboard a ship, a girl running to the sea, a medallion, and a fishing shack. Side 2: coastal background. The Pitch - When fisherwoman Nerissa’s best friend is kidnapped by immortal Fae after she failed to warn her people that the kingdom’s warded Mists were evaporating, she must learn to face her guilt and fight to save her, or climb the mast herself.

Side 1: ocean waves background. The Comps - THE VOICE- A fiery tempered, iron willed female protagonist who will stop at nothing to deliver justice to her people, however different she is from them – or how much pain she carries (pictured: The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent); THE POLITICS- Class elitism, prejudice, political infighting, coups, betrayals, conspiracies, rebellious royalty – and lies, lies, lies (pictured: The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. With a cynical eye to all but the fisherfolk who raised her, Nerissa lives in a sea-glass prison of her own making. She did nothing when she suspected the Mists were failing – so now, Nerissa must abandon her home to rescue her best friend, Alicen. The royal knights dismiss Alicen’s abduction as a peasant’s delusion, and their rejection propels Nerissa desperately forward to the kingdom’s criminal underbelly, where a violent outlaw fresh out of the dungeons is in the mood to make a deal. The conditions of securing his supposed militia? Murder the knight who locked him in chains. Nerissa harbors no loyalty for the knighthood that has neglected her people, but the closer she gets to delivering the poison promising Alicen’s survival, the more Nerissa doubts the righteousness of her bargain. Side 1: coastal city road background. The Opening: The slick burn of wine rolled down my throat as another strike of lightning flashed outside, the spark illuminating just enough to confirm what I already knew. The dark figure in the corner of the tavern was staring back. It was the senselessness of a waking dream: for an evening promising a quickening storm, the tavern was reasonably sparse … and far too quiet. Others should have noticed him. And yet, only I seemed to know that he was watching us – had been watching us. Side 2: cavern background. The Tropes: lovers betrayal, stages of grief, father & daughter bond, abandonment issues, morally grey protagonist, found family/sisterhood, he sails to save her, knight academy, the Quest, mythical creature sidekick, discovery of power, runes & ancient magic, decoding messages, healing magic

Side 1: apothecary desk background with scrolls, herbs, flowers, journals, and burlap. The Style: I yearned for that intoxication, not to save me from the nausea, but to numb the torment that relentlessly pinched my heart with every moment of Alicen’s absence. I knew I couldn’t feel anything more. It was unfamiliar. For all my life, I’d noted the absence of my mother, but I’d had no tangible sensations, no vivid memories to attach to her. Her absence was a constant; the origin. Missing her was to miss something that had never been there . . . to love a phantom, to long for the touch of nothing. When Andris had decided to leave for Fjordan, I’d feared that the same curse would befall us, and he’d join my mother in being utterly lost to me, as if he’d never been there. Though, the morning after Alicen disappeared was so much more horrifying than that. So much more vivid and surreal than I could’ve ever imagined. Suddenly, the grief over my mother that had always consumed me, that had likely been the genesis of the melancholy that had become inherently part of me, seemed merely more than a passing wind. What I felt now was a storm. Side 2: map of the Glynea continent; an island with 5 offshoot bluffs joined by bridges.

Photo of an excerpt from sage owen’s untitled holiday romance WIP. Text reads:

The enormity washed over her again. Lark pressed palms to her
face. "What did you do, Neil?"
"I just told a reporter friend-under condition of anonymity," he winked like that should fucking matter, "—that there was a story there!
There's no way it'll come back to you."
"It already has! I got a call from Marshall promising me legal action
for breaking my NDA!"
"But you didn't do it." He sounded smug, like he'd found a magic
loophole.
"Guess what! If my boyfriend knew it, then I obviously did break my NDA!" which was frustrating because she'd never told Neil or anyone else, but he was smart enough to realize songs he'd heard her practicing in the apartment eventually became international hits over the last year, and she'd been singing them before the album came out.
The problem wasn't that she thought he wouldn't notice. The problem was she'd thought he loved her enough to keep his mouth shut.
The problem was she'd been stupid and trusting.

Lark is at rock bottom. Betrayed, career in ruins, lying to everyone she loves… and the holiday market she’s working keeps running her into a man who smiles like he’s never met a problem.

Agent pitch guide title slide: LEARNING FOR YOU, Adult Contemporary Romance

Pitch blurb: Due to impending budget cuts, high school teacher Jules Clark's dream job is already in jeopardy before it's even started. With each department set to get rid of one new hire, Jules must compete with the annoying(ly handsome) former lawyer, Adrian Pierce, to keep her place. Where she finds herself in over her head, he seems to breeze through it all. He also pops up everywhere, from heated encounters in the copy room to a tension-filled work karaoke league, culminating in an assignment to collaborate on a joint teaching unit.
As they spend more time together, Jules finds she and Adrian have a lot in common...including a simmering attraction that becomes impossible to ignore.
With one job and two of them, Jules worries their growing chemistry can only lead to resentment. Though she lets Adrian in, old fears of not being good enough consume her as the deadline looms closer.
If she lets selt-doubt take over, Jules could lose everything-not only her career, but also the love that's right in front of her.

Janey Pfeiffer, better known as Daisy Chainsaw, cares about two things in life—roller derby and running the Little Paws animal rescue. After meeting the straight-laced Alan Monroe at a Fireball-fueled roller derby after party, she invites him for a one-night stand.

Their encounter turns into a full-blown situationship, and Janey falls harder for Alan than from a brutal hip check on the derby track. When Alan’s determination to save his family construction business puts him on a collision course with the struggling Little Paws, Janey must decide whether to sacrifice her heart as she races to save the animals she loves.

EXCERPT:

“I’m not ready for this to end.”

Nat searched his eyes with eyes full of understanding. Too much understanding. As if she too knew this, whatever this was, had to end. Every time he held her, he wanted more from her. Something Nat couldn’t, wouldn’t give. Not yet. Maybe someday. An improbable idea, not an impossible one. Where’s there’s life, there’s hope. But that hope dwindled with each passing semester, each passing season. He wasn’t sure how much longer he could or should wait. With his all-encompassing residency starting in a few weeks and Nat playing in the Olympics later this year on top of her already grinding schedule, such hope died a slow death.

TASTE
“Neither spoke as Elias bypassed the security protocol on the keypad. The metal hatch shuddered as it unlocked, slinking back to hidden panels in the wall.

They cleared the first few floors with carrion precision, methodical as Dermestidae stripping a carcass to bone. In Elias’s imagination, the gore thinned into something vaster—the time-lapse unraveling the ruin from above. Wordlessly, corridors were scoured to nothing as he and Jack moved like insects beneath an overhead lens.

As the hours dissolved, their work became abstracted into a cold anatomy, intimacy pared away as cleanly as flesh from the frame until only the architecture of survival remained. When Jack hacked into the collapsed doorway to the next stairwell, Elias marveled at the contradiction: how those same brutal hands had, only that morning, traced him with the delicacy of a scalpel.”

Slow but okay. I have had 3 full requests, 1 was a very kind rejection, 1 I didn’t hear back from and it’s been awhile, and the other was recent so waiting on that one too :) How about you? It’s tough out there!

A moodboard featuring nine photos in a 3x3 grid shape. From left to right, top to bottom:

1. A shot from the back of a person wrapping their arm around another person. They’re both leaning on each other, while sitting down. They appear to be next to a river or pond and sitting on grass.
2. Hands holding up a flower crown.
3. A close-up of an elf-like, long pointy ear. Colorized to be almost black and white.
4. A hand holding up dirt with what appears to be parts of a plant. Below it a patch of dirt with more green plant parts can be seen.
5. A wooden sign, pointing to the right, with big letters that say, “HOPE.”
6. A hand being stuck in water. The water seems to have dirt and some debris in it. I interpret it as a river.
7. A rustic village with a winding road, lots of trees and greenery, and a cluster of houses visible on the left.
8. Two hands hovering above a green plant.
9. An assortment of five chickens sitting on a wooden fence. Greenery can be seen in the background.

Short Pitch:

Set in a war-torn country. An orphaned boy and his older brother feel like everyday is a struggle and a reminder of what they lost. Until one day, when they get the opportunity to move to Greenfield — a small, rustic village on the outskirts of the country and a chance at a real home.

There, the boy meets Sam — a mysterious, closed-off girl with pointy ears. Together the two kids realize that facing their internal fears might not be so scary if they don’t have to do it alone.

Alt-text: Background: shelves full of old-fashioned books. Text: A BOYFRIEND, IF YOU CAN KEEP HIM: A Contemporary Romance

Background: shelves full of old-fashioned books.
Text: After losing out on her dream job as a research librarian at the Library of Congress, Kathleen Gallagher is done chasing things. Not jobs, not boyfriends, not Beyoncé tickets. So when her meddling mentor lands her a consulting job hunting the missing volumes from the Library of Congress’s original collection, Kathleen takes the gig only to avoid disappointing him yet again. Never mind his hints that this might be her ticket out of self-imposed exile at a boring industry job in Chicago; Kathleen plans to work just hard enough to prove that the books are lost for good.

Across the National Mall at the Library of Congress’s archival arch-rival, Smithsonian historian Dr. Grant Ordoñez vows to find the missing books first. As the eldest son of a mixed-status immigrant family, Grant is used to playing catch-up. He’s confident he can outpace an entitled librarian who doesn’t even have a PhD and seems immune to the concept of actual work.

But when Grant’s interference forces Kathleen to actually do her job, banter between the stacks and late nights together at the National Archives lead to a romance better than the revenge Grant was chasing. Meanwhile, Kathleen confronts the life she could have had if she hadn’t given up on her dream job—and her growing feelings for the wry, loyal historian who shows her. With each book found bringing Kathleen’s contract in D.C. closer to an end, Kathleen must decide if leaving her comfortable exile for a second shot at her dream is worth risking another humiliating failure and whether opening her heart to Grant is worth the risk he could break it.

Text: I’m halfway across the room when Grant speaks again. “Hey Kathleen, how tall are you?”
“Five foot six,” I say automatically. Then I stop and turn around. “Wait, why? How tall are you?”
“Five-eleven,” he says.
“If you were actually five-eleven, you’d round up to six feet,” I challenge.
“That’s small-minded of you.” He lowers his laptop screen. There’s a smile playing around his mouth. “I prefer to play the long game and round down to five-ten. Make the other five-elevens sweat a little.”
I laugh. “That’s surprisingly diabolical. And you still haven’t answered my question.”
Grant looks pointedly at the books in my arms and thumbs something into his phone. “I just want to be sure I’m giving the U.S. Marshals an accurate description of the midnight book thief.”
“Oh my god, it’s not even six o’clock in the evening.”
He peers around the desk hutch at me. “‘But wearing high heels, so… five foot nine?”

Run. What a powerful instinct.
Emma Bridge had wanted nothing more than to be with her two siblings in a home that felt safe, but those wishes never came true. With nothing left to lose, Emma runs away from the spotlight of the Hills to a small town across the country, but this new home is anything but the safety she’d been after.

The weight of the world has fallen on her shoulders, and she can’t carry it alone. But with her old name in every police station and her new name on every tongue in town, she’s not sure who she can trust to help carry the burden.

There’s a collage of pictures. Picture one is of two people, one sitting on the counter with the other in front of them. Picture two is go a small-town street with snowy homes to either side. Picture three shows a row of high school desks. Picture four shows a box of police evidence. Picture five shows a group of kids sitting behind an abandoned building. Picture six shows someone flipping off a police car. Picture seven shows a paper with the words “Child Custody Hearing” printed on it. The last picture shows a boy sitting at a school desk, writing something into a notebook.

In the bottom right, it says Going on submission in 2026

The image, made with free non-AI stock pictures, shows a horror-comedy novel cover titled "DAD BODIES." The top of the cover reads "THE GAME JUST TOOK A DAD TURN" with "DAD" in a different color.

The background features a haunted house with multiple towers and illuminated windows against a dark backdrop. At the center is a 20-sided die (D20) used in tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, with visible numbers including 1, 7, 13, and 19. The die is surrounded by red blood splatter effects.

At the bottom of the cover are six men with expressions of terror and shock. One man is wearing a white shirt over his head. These men are the dads referenced in the title.

CABIN IN THE WOODS × JOHN DIES AT THE END

When their detective friend is murdered at their annual gaming retreat, 5 dads must rely on years of #TTRPG experience—and puns—to solve the crime before they're all killed off like NPCs in a badly written supernatural campaign.
