I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

National protest organizers told people not to protest in DC because βTrump might declare martial law,β says one organizer. These people said βfuck that.β And theyβre marching to the White House.

I'm so glad you covered it, otherwise I wouldn't have known it was happening. I was working downtown today and glad I could pop over to the White House for a quick protest on my break! It was small compared to most DC protests, but bigger than I expected given it wasn't on the No Kings map.
With a tip of the hat to Jello Biafra and the Dead Kennedys... ICE & MAGA PUNKS FUCK OFF!
Decided on another as well..
My favorite library patrons are park ranger historians in their green uniforms, all love for the nerd army (complimentary)
βThe symbolism is rich, robust, and deeply un-Americanβ

Punk music is known for its raw, aggressive sound, edgy fashion and mosh pits. Itβs also known for being predominantly white, but that's changed a lot in recent years.
Resurfaced music from its earliest days underscores that punk has always been influenced and shaped by Black artists as well.
I work at MLK Library, let me know if I can help arrange for space there!

If you read one article this weekend...or this week, or this month...let it be this one from the New Yorker by @amifieldsmeyer.bsky.social and @juliaangwin.com. It is indeed a "practical guide to courage in Trump's age of fear" and it couldn't be more important. www.newyorker.com/news/the-wee...
