For me, if something touches chatGPT, i automatically become pretty skeptical abt the originality of the work/whether your writing is actually your own (vs chatGPT writing it for you), & it makes me not want to read it. But i dont care about spelling/grammar checkers lol i use em

I do know grammarly just introduced a generative feature so that would give me pause personally. Also, i’d suggest that a better alternative to using an AI program for editing is to try and find a native speaker to beta for you! Since spelling/grammar checkers often arent perfect

Originality/integrity of the work so it wouldn’t be something like plagiarism. I dont care if somebody’s using grammarly to edit syntax/a sentence or two, i care if they’re using a generative model to write portions of the text for them, for the most part (2/?)

Personally i think using chatGPT is unethical on a base level no matter what you’re doing and i wouldn’t use it (given data/energy/ethical concerns), but grammar and spelling checkers (though AI), usually aren’t generative. And using a grammar checker doesn’t compromise the (1/?)

this is why as much as I respect the reasoning for people saying don’t post it, I will continue to. Because it’s already being erased from history. On the same day it happened. It’s an insult to my family past and present to not call out anti-semitism, and this is full blown Nazi.
