Everything about this is so stupid. What's next, the satori of slurs???
Everything about this is so stupid. What's next, the satori of slurs???
That's what kills me about this too. They are "forbidden" in the same way that a geocentric model of the solar system is forbidden, that is, it's stupid and you're stupid for thinking it. And if anyone needs a quick and easy tip for sniffing out bullshit, just look for "evolutionary psychology".
I continue to be fascinated by the phenomenon whereby an expert engages with any of the LLMs on their field of expertise and is instantly horrified by the wrong answers, and then goes on to use it for things they are not experts in as though it wonβt be just as bad for those.
(Yes, of course I'm making substantive progress on my dissertation my dear committee members on this website. I've definitely done more than try to insert "bee" into as many words about finances and taxes as possible today)
I'm currently working on the most forced, hackneyed pun title for a paper that has ever been written. I know that there's tough competition in this arena, but I'm confident in my absolute lack of originality and unscrupulous commitment to forcing wordplay where it doesn't belong.
Gawain the green knight opening a letter sealed with wax
Little Alex Horne in his studio chair with the caption "so a simple task: land a fair blow anywhere on the green knight. One year later meet him at the green chapel, receive the same blow yourself."
A cut to a wider shot showing Greg Davies in his throne turning to Little Alex Horne subtitled "Well surely no one just ran up and whanged his head clean off."
Cut back to Little Alex Horne subtitled "Let's see Gawain first."
Looks like the original has been swept away by the sands of time.
Letβs go #Suns!
Yes! And anything that can get us to this solar punk future (including sustainable biplane technology)
image that shows the syntax to create a slider in a Pluto notebook with the julia programming language
Just look at how easy it is to make sliders!!!
Wow, Pluto is incredible. Because of my python muscle-memory I've just been running julia in jupyter whenever I needed a notebook but I finally took the plunge and it's crazy how many features this thing has. #julialang
But then how will everyone realize that *they* are actually the person suffering most in this interaction? Being presented with a screen of default options that might result in spending an extra 50 cents is an injustice that cannot be borne in silence.
This is amazing, I want to post this when the weekly post is made in r/seattle about how some coffee shop has had the audacity of adding a new % option for the tip and how everything would just be so much better and rational if there were no tips and they can't believe no one ever thinks of that...
Happy birthday to Charles Darwin,
patron saint of tired scientists, grumpy fieldworkers, and hating your own manuscript.
Reminder that the New England Patriots are ontologically evil, so therefore any act against them is inherently good.
I am certain that whenever someone posts about βgatekeeping artβ or whatever, theyβre talking about posting drawings online for clicks. They never mean arranging rocks in the back yard. They never mean whistling to yourself and finding a tune that makes you happy. They never mean napkin doodles.
I guess that reasoning can go into a manuscript? But that's only if this project ends up being interesting anyway.....ughghgh
Ughgh, science has wrecked my ability to feel "productive". I spent the last 3 hours just thinking about whether or not I should remove a single variable from an equation. Ultimately, I didn't. So I'm right back to where I was when I started this morning. π«
I just finished all of the Murderbot books and since I've also recently read some of the Culture books, I now have a silly little headcanon that they all exist in the same universe. The ships in Murderbot--Perihelion/ART and Holism--are early examples of ship minds #scifi #murderbot #booksky
Finally watched Bugonia. Great documentary of what happens if you keep non-native bees.
All you need to know about how cool Geese are is how low that bass is being played.
If I know you use this I will literally never cite your work again, because there is literally no way to trust it or you
As someone who grew up driving in this canyon, the real secret is to just go slow. Or, as the other commenter said, just don't if it's really bad enough.
Lol nevermind that wasnβt even a first down
Okay, you know what, a first down run is basically good enough.
Blucifer giveth and blucifer taketh away.
My kingdom for a CJ Anderson-esque TD run in this game.
Yeah, I just can't fully get behind an all-dome NFL. "Any given Sunday" is one of my favorite parts of the game, and weather is absolutely part of that. (Ignore the fact I'm a Broncos fan, a team that definitely doesn't have a mile-high homegame advantage or anything...)
The only thing better is a DL pick six
