Harbour’s one of those songs that feels like it should have existed for ever but was only written a few years ago. v gorgeous v needed

Drawing looking down on a young man asleep on a patterned sofa. Peonies flood over the left, backrest side of the sofa, the right side is a black void.
“and tomorrow we’ll fight like dogs”
lil guy for a comic i’m banging my head against
Digital illustration showing Ogata and Vasily from Golden Kamuy crossing paths in a snowy pine forest. Each has their rifle in the other's face. A circular design of a fighting hare and eurasian lynx sits in the bottom left corner of the image.

Halfway to rent and our rent is due TOMORROW! Jittery time lapse representing the state of my mind.
€1000 over two days is highly unlikely but very sale saves us from accumulating more debt!
closeups if you like that sorta thing

It also turns out the original scanner was never broken lmao
Here’s the real maddening thing, this is the “broken” 15ish yr old scanner i thought I needed to replace ft a different new cable
A thrilling conclusion, USB C to USB C cable
I'll post officially on @brokenfrontier.bsky.social soon about how we need the community's help if BF is to continue in the long-term. As of this month I will also be taking on the hosting costs of @smallpressday.bsky.social. Any help rn much appreciated via our Ko-fi! ko-fi.com/andyoliver70...

brrrrrrr (wip)
(I got it closed with a can of spray lubricant, a step ladder and a bread knife wahooo)
Life flashing before my eyes as one of the studio windows jammed and stuck open (i’d craned my neck out to watch the drummers go down the road for women’s day)
the mystery! The drama!
I’ve ordered new cables (one of this scanner, one for the original,
assumed busted ancient Epson) and am holding off poking anything else until those arrive.
Oh no that’s really helpful (and about the only thing I haven’t tried!) i’ll have a hunt for a new cable. It‘s so frustrating that nothing just works anymore.
AAAND that's my lunchbreak and I'm out tonight so any further faffing with it will be later.
I know people with the same scanner running on the same model of iMac who've had none of this nonsense so idk where to go from here.
5. NAP2
6. Scanning direct to Clip Studio
fair to say we don't have a scanning software issue here (: I'd assume it was just a problem of it drawing power from the iMac if it weren't for the fact that the old, mains powered scanner (which briefly worked with this device) developed the same issue.
various.. things.
1. Scanner showing in my list of connected devices
2. This is attempting to use the Canon scanner software, device is connected
3. Image Capture, just stalls out on "scanning documents" scanner does not respond
4. VueScan, the locking switch on the scanner is unlocked
No.
none of em work! driving me mad
Vuescan does not recognise it either, I think I've currently got 6 different scanner apps installed
Ah no! Been through all of that with a previous Epson scanner that I gave away because I thought it was busted. I'm onto a Canon scanner now and it's got all the same problems.
Thank you though!
I've tried so many fixes, the only obvious one I haven't tried is "plug the USB in without using a USB hub" bc this new iMac doesn't have USB ports hahahaaaa
Scanner no.1 is an ancient mains powered Epson Perfection
Scanner no.2 was a new, USB powered Epson Perfection
Scanner no.3 is a new, USB powered Canon LiDE
1 would just drop connection more and more, and 2 and
3 have both been recognised as being there by the mac, but not when I go to scan
a uh plea if anyone has had any joy getting a 2024+ iMac to talk to a USB flatbed scanner
I'm on scanner no. 3 and the problem is clearly the computer now (not even sure if 15 yr old+ scanner no. 1 was broken to begin with) and we're still just not communicating (:
Oooh they’re goooood!
i love your warm colours so so much
tried drawing my skyrim character thjordan :'3
