Thank you Blayne.
Thank you Blayne.
Hate has no place here, but only if we actively remove it. I stand with @nafisafai.bsky.social. We need all of you to stand up and denounce racism and bigotry. #washingtoncounty #countycommissioner #endhate
Thank you to everyone who attended my town hall meetings this past weekend. I spoke with constituents in Seaside and Beaverton, and it is overwhelmingly clear that the district I represent is gravely concerned about the future of democracy, the environment, healthcare, and more.
Happy Independence Day Somalia.
Join us for a fabulous February town hall plus Honoring Black History Month-2/27 at 6-7 online. Hereβs the link to attend: us02web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...
Graphic with text and photo of Congresswoman Bonamici at an affordable housing construction site. Text reads: "Iβm introducing three bills to address the affordable housing shortage and homelessness crisis. The housing crisis has many layers of complexity, and it will take all of us working together from multiple angles to solve it."
Graphic with text and photo of Congresswoman Bonamici speaking to an early childhood educator at a child care center. Text reads: "Build Housing with Care Act. The Build Housing with Care Act would provide $500 million to co-locate child care centers, including home-based providers, with affordable housing developments. Priority would be given to projects in child care deserts or rural communities, including qualified Head Start providers and providers that serve low-income children."
Graphic with text and photo of Congresswoman Bonamici at hotel that was converted to affordable housing. Text reads: "Project Turnkey Act.The Project Turnkey Act models Oregonβs successful Project Turnkey Program to provide flexible funding that can quickly convert unused buildings into affordable housing and emergency shelters, enhance services for people experiencing homelessness, and address the nationwide housing crisis."
Graphic with text and photo of Congresswoman Bonamici speaking to a resident of an affordable housing development with supportive services. Text reads: "START Housing Act. The bipartisan Supporting Transition and Recovery Through (START) Housing Act would expand access to transitional housing for individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder or mental health crisis."
I continue to hear about the urgent need for more affordable housing in every corner of NW Oregon. The legislation Iβm leading could quickly increase the amount of affordable housing and the support services people need to get ahead.
A graphic using the Spotify Wrapped format with a picture of Congresswoman Bonamici and list of top projects that were funded in 2024. List: $2.1B for the Interstate Bridge Replacement; $450M for reconnecting the Lower Albina neighborhood; $197M for reducing climate pollution; $20M for clean school buses in Beaverton; and $1M for rehabilitating Pier 2 in Astoria. Community Project Funding for NW Oregon: $16.8 million.
NW Oregon and the rest of our state received significant federal investments this year to help rebuild crumbling infrastructure, clean up pollution, and advance environmental justice.
As the saying goes in politics. Sometimes your foe is your friend and your friend is your foe. Is Mitch McConnell a friend to the Democratic Party?!
This shall be an accountability vehicle of all things local politics. Opinions will be voiced. Wide and openly.
