vancouver's newest solaris trolleybuses are real & under testing.

they bring off-wire capability (great news for flexibility) and adopt a common european layout of 3 doors + full low-floor for better capacity+dwells.

you get better transit when you don't limit yourself to north american buses!

You are invited to the Edmonton Transit Riders Annual General Meeting! We will review all the advocacy work we completed over the past year and decide the course of work for 2026-2027. The AGM will be held virtually on Monday, April 6th at 7:00pm.

This would be so preferable to concentric expansion we are doing now (if we actually got transit expansion and designed neighbourhoods well...)

is the goal of your post to inform people of the in flux nature of legal claims regarding title and what it could mean in the future?

or is it to use any situation to make folks anxious that other people could threaten your way of life?

Are the Liberal voters just shy NDP voters? Or did they think they were answering a federal poll/really like Carney?

Gas is so cheap there they sell it by the gallon.

This is just a bit of an expensive day no?

Like I only buy gas once every few months, but like I feel like this is a pretty ordinary price on the high range

If only one of the fastest growing jurisdictions for renewables in North America hadn’t massively regulated them in favour of β€œviews sheds” a while ago

Alberta could have been actually making progress…

07.03.2026 00:45 πŸ‘ 5 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

it’s certainly not the chief issue here, but the iran war should accelerate renewables buildouts around the world so we don’t need to be so dependent on volatile oil and gas imports

Unfunded inclusionary zoning mandates are de-facto taxes on new housing that worsen the housing shortage because they require homebuilders to rent or sell a percentage of their new homes at a loss.

Funded inclusionary zoning, on the other hand, is a great tool to economically integrate new housing.

Hey that’s about the cost of the SSI Restoration Act, which would cut recipient poverty by 60%, eliminate marriage penalties, and modernize draconian asset limits.

Every sunset, like every snowflake, is unique. It’s nice to get outside and catch them when you can! Fresh air and a beautiful view can do us a lot of good.

We've so recently lost the "ending daylight savings" referendums, these are the last release valves on the pressure gauges holding back revolution

I think one of the little buses going through the neighbourhood like a circulator frequently all day would be really good. Personally I don't think that a kilometre walk is good enough for a neighbourhood that is supposed to be sustainable

Blatchford will be ok for bikes, and the east side will be very connected to LRT, but we don't talk much about how this neighbourhood was designed with a complete lack of thought for buses.

If you live in the NW of Blatchford, your transit access may be worse than a typical Edmonton neighbourhood

Anyone know a good podcast that covers the Canadian constitution?

I’ve listened to an episode of the 99pi American one, but want something similar for Canada

One thing that I wish all elected officials were able to understand is that an improvement outside of your specific ward or municipality can still be the best improvement for the people you represent

UBC is a regional destination, and improving access makes trips faster for the entire metro

My Premier wants some temporary foreign worker to die outside a hospital from a medical emergency because they just aren't special enough to be treated like a human.

Danielle Smith has such a dark heart.

"The level of racism and hate that has been expressed has risen undoubtedly, and it is aligned with this premier's... attempt to pin all of her failings on newcomers to this province."

ABNDP's Rakhi Pancholi argues Premier Smith's referendums are designed to anger and distract.

The UCP has been in power for 51 of the last 55 years but according to Danielle Smith it's the family who arrived six months ago that is wrecking the province.
