Open Event as in the Spotlight Series
Here's another thing to chew on as I pause on my recap to sleep for 4 hours before work 😅
Is an Open Event with Closed Decklist Day 1 the same "caliber" of Event as an RC with Open Decklist from the start?
Do I combine them, or leave them separate?
I think it's also just easier to drop the Players during the Event vs individually doing it beforehand (or putting onus on them to do so).
But some of these Players have results (2-1-0, 1-1-0, etc) so they either showed up & dropped OR people entered silly results for a Bye round (shouldn't happen)
This will make these matches not count when I calculate my WIN% stats.
I'm getting conflicting info from people about these being no shows that pre-reg'd & people claiming they never submitted info.
It's probably easier for TO just to start the event vs drop them
Okay...looking at individual round results shows that some matches had records of 2-1-0 (in one case, 1-1-1)
So there are people with lists that showed up, played a round & dropped but their deck list is NOT registered.
To account for these, I'm probably going to give all non-deck list wins a BYE
I figured they were show up and drops for Promos or something, since that happens regularly at Events. Either no deck or like 60 lands.
Preregistration but no deck list and still getting paired seems weird to me, but it does look like what might have happened.
Seems like these are Players that were no show, drops.
Not sure why they got paired round one but that's neither here nor there.
I can do a quick fix for this Event if they're all 0-1-0 no R2 pairings

I usually pick out like, sub 10 no deck list entries at large Events. It's really strange to see it at an Open Deck List Event like an RC though - I'd expect it at the Spotlight Series.
I might go ahead business as usual, but the H2H data won't be 100% complete which sucks
This is a significant loss of data, although they almost all seem to be 0-1-0 drops at the Event.
These wins ARE attributed to other decks that they faced - but we have no idea what deck it was against for any H2H stats.
This means Turin is incomplete H2H data

A LOT of deck lists are missing from 900th place onward. 45 to be exact - which is enough to be 3.5% of the meta across all 3 RC's this weekend (4.4% of Turin alone)
Can we all agree "Momo White" is a fantastic name for the Momo Drum deck if it's Mono White
Kinda sucks because I get some UB backlash but it feels like stores aren't even giving it a chance/over-correcting to people in their Discords complaining about it.
I was unavailable release weekend &a way this weekend, but looking at my LGS area Discords I won't have the chance to Draft TMNT in Paper.
They're all already off the Set and doing other Drafts.
