We had over 100 trans folks show up in the bitter cold and snow in February in Boston to protest Fenway. And we didn't have a bunch of funding from hate groups and billionaires propping us up.

It may be recency bias. But I think it might be Requiem for me. RE, in my opinion, works best when it’s like a roller coaster. Building tension as the coaster climbs to the top, then releasing all that tension in spectacular and absurd setpieces. Requiem hits that sweetspot best for me.
Conservatives were on the record in January 2023 in the NYT saying explicitly that they targeted trans youth to be able to ban transitioning for everyone. They admitted it but then every dumb centrist was like "but what about the evidence on trans youth."

I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.

An effective ban before the end of the year is highly likely. They won't call it a ban. They'll limit private prescribing by citing safety concerns and then rely on the 25 year waitlists for adult care to effectively make formal access impossible. It'll make legal challenges harder.
