selfie of me circa 2021 in a Padre hat and pinstriped "SD" long sleeve shirt, enjoying some chocolate soft-serve at Petco Park, in front of yellow grass (?) at a stadium concession stand
(I now plan to indulge in some soft-serve, a la this 2021 pic, while listening to next week's counterbalancing "optimism episode")
selfie of me circa 2019 wearing a yellow Padres t-shirt with the friar pushing a giant baseball up a mountain like Sisyphus
Goofy coincidence today when I found myself listening to the current Padres Hot Tub "pessimism episode" while wearing my old "Friar Sisyphus" shirt (pic is from circa 2019) podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Pitching matchup made for Hollywood.
Unique colors matter in MLBβs sea of reds and blues. Basic differentiation!
Living in northern Dodger country as a Padre fan and have done so for 22ish years. Some of my best friends are Dodger fans. Most of them are fine with that.
Or so they say.
his administrations have negatively polarized me agains the word "very" far more than Dead Poets Society ever could
Hey now, out where the Colorado River water rights might start a real war we donβt joke about things like this
Listen pal, nobody erases my Killer-Dana-by-birthright status
Well, assuming that trouble isnβt screen-shot or quote-dunked onto your feed, of course
1-2 taps away from your βfollowingβ feed on here really is asking for trouble, innit
MLB blackout policy
As a native who visits regularly but quickly goes home I gotta say itβs, uh, a land of contradictions
My favorite take of all the quotes I've seen so far. And yes that's because it's exactly what I didβa homebrew atlas mostly full of stuff my players will never encounterβbecause I like maps and writng a novel trilogy seemed daunting.
(if a system allows me to build my whip-wielding Whispers Bard in it with no substantial difference, then for me that system Works Well)
I made a system-agnostic homebrew worldbook/atlas, but I still love 5e because in late 2019 it brought me back to the hobby after a 30-year-layoff. The first character I made with it is still the template with which I consider any other system.
I'm not sure that's nuanced but it's certainly A Take.
Immediately told my brother (a la Marvin to Chuck) "you gotta listen to this, its outro has the same vibe as [song we recorded in 2005]"
(that song's outro jam is this): youtu.be/vy4ZKeYAA3Q?...
Was still on the Sturgill/JBS kick and revisitied "Passage Du Desir", which I never gave a proper listen, and holy wow the last four minutes of the last song are glorious. youtu.be/_A2aZInF1wY?...
oh I certainly hope so
"Gone for Good" by Morphine, which I will not link because I'm in a good mood and don't want to change that just yet
a screenshot of Bluesky telling me "We ran out of posts from your follows. Here's the latest from Discover."
At first I was all "absolutely the fuck not" and then I realized "absolutely the fuck not AND it's time to log off"
At my best I could only really achieve one level of crazy, because I played in rock bands, performing my own music during and after college, and did that Instead Of Therapy.
And I'll absolutely never run for Congress, because you have to be three kinds of crazy to even think you'll do well in *state* office. I say that as someone with friends of the family who did just that.
I know (or remember) next to nothing about my paternal grandfather, but my maternal grandfather was a traveling lawbook salesman who loved to sail and knew next to nothing about music.
I like to think that Bobby Duvall can hear this album wherever he may be
"I God Woodrow, if there's anything that'll make me pick up the bass guitar this week I'll be damned if'n it ain't them Dark Clouds"
every passing day of this century I become even wronger about it, but I hold tight to the brief window in which I Was Right and find it soothing and comforting
This was my experience with Midjourney circa 2022. I didn't hate what I made with it, but that was only after I did substantial photoshop work to make what it gave me look like what I wanted. I couldn't have done that without decades of pro retouching experience. Ultimately wasn't worth it.
I briefly imagined it to be the Antipodeal Vegas but a quick search proved that very wrong.
But still
