The original art piece. a twinkish anthro lizard king sits on a throne, legs spread, nothing beneath his robe except his big thing. He looks at you and says "Come. Kneel before your king."
Part 2: The same king from the original piece, now bound in his throne, drenched in cum. He has presumably been fucked in the ass 17 times judging by the markings drawn on him. Two off screen characters say "That'll show him" - "Yeah! No more orders from him" The king, though muffled by a gag squeaks out "m-more" The off screen characters are silent for a moment and one says quietly "what did he just say?"

Starting with a simple engine with limitations is a fantastic way to learn, as they will be built in ways to reduce the amount of boilerplate you need to write for sure, and open up more brain space for learning, so yeah, definitely a benefit for doing so!
You're not wrong, but you're working against the limitations of the engine, and you have to get pretty damn creative to make it work.
As before, choose the engine that's right for your game.
If you're starting out and don't know what that game is going to be, it's better to have flexibility.
A fursuit of an anthro Superb Fairy Wren, an avian form with wings on their upper arms, claw hands, and shiny yellow/orange eyes that offset their brilliant blue colours. This bird suit was made by Beast Fantasia.

Yeah! That's a very good starter tool, but it is restricting, you're basically set on making a top down RPG game haha.
That's not to say fantastic things haven't come out of RPG maker; Look Outside, To The Moon, Off, Omori.
Then there are games like Ib that get around that creatively.
Then yeah, I suggest working with something easy to learn; Godot, Game Maker, RPG maker, Ren'py.
If you need any help feel free to hit me up! I'm currently working on my own Godot project ATM.
What kind of coding/development experience do you have?
You usually want to choose the engine to support the game, but if you're not sure, and just starting out, it's better to use something that's easier to learn/prototype in.
In those cases I'd suggest Godot or Game Maker!
Just passing a little time on those long space voyages!
