One month on from being elected to Derbyshire County Council wake up to see Aasiya Bora has won the Leicester city by-election for Stoneygate ward. Congrats to all at Leicester Green Party on the victory.
Celebrated with a meeting with the head of waste services and then a full council meeting at Amber Valley council. Going up to Matlock on Monday to get everything sorted so I can start representing Horsley at Derbyshire county council.
These two wards are only a few miles apart. The Amber Valley team has put in an incredible amount of work (multiple leaflets drops to over 5000 homes, doorknocked every home where someone voted last time) during the campaign to make the win possible in Horsley.

I am pleased to have been selected as the Green candidate for the Horsley by-election for Derbyshire County Council. Now the hard work of getting out and challenging Reform to be the representative for the parishes of Denby, Horsley, Horsley Woodhouse, Kilburn, Mapperley, Shipley and Smalley.
The Reform county councillor for the area where I live has resigned six months after being elected. I have submitted my application to be the Green Party candidate for the upcoming by-election for Horsley division in Derbyshire.
I joined the Green Party in 2015 during the "Green Surge" that saw membership reach 30,000. That today we now have 100,000 members wanting to see a better, fairer, Greener country is so, so inspiring. I look forward to meeting and speaking with many of the local new members here in Derbyshire.
Pleased to have been part of a Community Speedwatch session in Horsley Woodhouse this morning. Of the over two hundred vehicles checked only two recorded speeding, though disappointed with the driver who shot through the village literally minutes after packing away.
