The setting sun illuminates the surf as it breaks softly on the shore. Taransay silhouetted against a darkening sky. The softness and simplicity of the landscape in such light is so addictive. Island life, slow and timeless allows the appreciation to build and remain with you.

Couple of images from @rspbleightonmoss.bsky.social yesterday. The Robin’s are almost jumping in your pocket for a snack.
Had a close encounter with a Treecreeper (inches from me) and later in afternoon the Water Rail were rooting around the edge of the paths.
Alway a good day out.

Visit to @rspbleightonmoss.bsky.social on Saturday. Much of the reserve is closed off due to flooding but I must have spent a couple of hours in a small area between the visitor centre and Lillian’s Hide playing with the Robins, Squirrels and Redwing.
