The oil companies need to boost their profits for their shareholders. They won't be happy until they extract every reachable barrel of oil. When costs rise, it just let's them extract goo that isn't profitable today. A good global war is a good excuse.

I can't claim creating the method but I heard of it when I went to a class on seed starting and an attendee mentioned it.
I started some seeds in regular 10x20" trays and others in the snails, and the latter are much preferable to me in the ease of transferring the started seeds to individual pots

Some of the veggie seeds I planted today. Lots of cucumbers, summer squash, corn and marigolds. Tomatoes are a few days away from being ready to transplant.
Seed snails rolls in my green hose within my greenhouse that I've got heat and lights set up. Zoom in to see details, but a seed snails is a piece of recycled plastic (I'musing bubblewrap) maybe 8" x 2' onto which you put down a thick (1/2" ?) thick layer of moist soil. Roll it up like a jelly roll, tape it shut and stand it upright. Seeds are inserted every inch or so and the whole thing sitting in a tray with water. When plants are big, unroll and lift the plants and roots to separate them, ready for upsizing into individual pots.
I spent most of the day replanting seeds I've been starting in my little greenhouse.
I'm making 'seed snails' to start seeds. Don't know if you're familiar with them, but search youtube for that term. Results have been amazingly good, and I will be using this method from now on! (Alt tags!)
Not in the least bit funny. I think every billionaire and wannabe billionaire in trump's cabinet has trampled on our laws to get that wealth. There is nothing funny about what that group of assholes is doing to the world and those they see as lesser than themselves.
