Gestern hab ich bekannt gegeben, dass ich spätestens 2028 aus der Wissenschaft aussteigen werd — darüber schreibt @evamurasov.bsky.social nun im @tagesspiegel.de. Zig Kommentare & Nachrichten zeigen mir: Sehr viele Wissenschaftler_innen hadern. Bedingungen müssen dringend besser werden! #IchBinHanna
If you talk to leading profs, who made their careers in the 1990s and 2000s, they'll all tell you that what's been happening since ca 2010 has stifled research in Germany, that they no longer recognize the universities they helped shape, and that they would & could no longer become profs today. 2/3
In 1982, Hayek wrote a letter to Thatcher, suggesting that the UK should follow the example of Pinochet's Chile in implementing radical market reforms. Thatcher's response is quite telling.

Wow looks so much better than mine
Tribute to Michel Aglietta in @newleftreview.bsky.social: "a tireless thinker, committed to the proposition that we should aim to comprehend our changing historical times in their totality, which meant grasping the inter-relationships of their many moving parts." newleftreview.org/issues/ii156...
Free Gifts: Capitalism and the Politics of Nature, is among the most clarifying books I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
Really enjoyed my conversation with @alybatt.bsky.social — we cover nature, value, feminist economics, existentialism, freedom and more

Here is @christophsorg.bsky.social giving a brilliant talk on economic planning.
I'm in Berkeley/Santa Barbara most of winter semester for a couple of presentations and field work. Any suggestions for academics and activists appreciated. Also: The great @itsmccarthy.bsky.social has put together this event at UC Santa Cruz I'm really looking forward to.

Don't thinks it's very helpful because of corporate language, but happy to forward the T&F emails for your research if you pm me your email address...
The whole thing happened because of AUP books being bought, but I'm assuming you mean why open access (temporarily - see my other reply) disappeared? I really don't know, so far I'm assuming there's a lot going on because of the takeover and eventually the AUP stuff will appear on the T&F website...
Thanks for the link, I was not able to open access the book via library.oapen yesterday but now it seems to work again. still not not great that it seems to have disappeared from google search. But probably/hopefully a De Gruyter PDF version will eventually be more easy to find via google.
I'm so disappointed my book (funded by public money) was purchased by a rentier capitalist plattform registered in a tax haven. Open access file is not available anymore since today, but I uploaded it here:

Registration is just so we know how many people show up, no worries
