#Microsoft people out there: is there a way to stop this red sidebar from appearing every time I open a tab in #Edge?

I will never want this. It’s annoying to dismiss every time.

(Yes, I use other browsers but I use Edge for one specific task that requires multiple tab openings per day)

February 2026 is a nice square calendar and I find it very pleasing.

Proposal: all Februaries should be nice and square like this. We can add some blank non-days to January and March as needed to achieve this.

speaking of AI, just noticed Time has a box on their website where you can query AI about its archives.

Unfortunately it appears the box cannot be dismissed or hidden if you just want to... read the article without a box taking up real estate.

(Box does not know how to get rid of itself haha)

According to the club, the name originated in 1896 as the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers. Heavy construction of electric trolley tracks in front of Eastern Park caused fans to dodge the trolleys to reach the park. Those fans became known as Trolley Dodgers and the team took on the name, which was shortened to Dodgers.

In case you were wondering, Los Angeles baseball team name etymology. I loled.

I knew that the protective walls they built around GrindavΓk to protect the village from the lava were big, but I didn't realise just how huge they are. Here seen with trucks and machinery for scale.

Luigi Mangione, who was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, once belonged to a group of Ivy League gamers who played assassins, a member of the group told NBC News.

In the game, called "Among Us," some players are secretly assigned to be killers in space who perform other tasks while trying to avoid suspicion from other players.

This response from @sbearbergman.bsky.social to @hildur.bsky.social’s post has changed my weekβ€” it is so wholesome, and human, and so the energy we all need right now. And Kerstin Langenberger, the naturalist who posted β€œI am on my way with the necessary equipment”? This woman is the hero we need.

this is what i mean when i said that a lot of normies seem to think chatgpt is an actual agent as opposed to a machine that is trying to predict the token

the latter behavior is useful but not always optimizing for truth
