QTP with a trio of awesomeness

Lifelong Mainer. Star Wars fan nearly as long. Also love comic books, book books, David Lynch, David Simon, David Milch . . . just all the Davids. Red Sox & Oilers fan (covering the coasts). Pinko liberal because "progress" is in progressive.

Good morning! Happy #Thorsday
I believe I've shared this before, but it's just too good not to share again. A convention sketch of bearded Thor by the Legend, Walter Simonson.
I was onboard as soon as Bissette announced TYRANT, back in the day, and I loved the hell out of those four issues!
Downloading has commenced.
So %$#&ing good!
Post your favorite Lord of the Rings character. Wrong answers only.
I've read it a number of times and think it holds up pretty well. The art by Brent Anderson is stellar throughout his run, and the stories are solid until a new writer comes on and completely shifts the direction of the series, which is around #20, as I noted.
Enjoy!
Drop something blue.
I absolutely love this series! Particularly the first 20 issues.
Fantastic!
This sounds like how we played mouse trap. We didnβt read the rules, just set up the trap and sprung it to see if it worked.
I have been unable to convince my family to play it. So, I may never know the frustration of this game.
Star Wars Escape From Death Star board game. Most of the cover has an image of a Tie Fighter shooting at an X-Wing, while the right quarter of the box cover has eight images of the characters Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper, R2-D2, and C-3PO.
The Escape From Death Star game board, which has multiple circles radiating out from the lower right corner, designated the trash compactor, all lines moving toward the upper left corner, which has the Millennium Falcon and myriad Tie Fighters. All of this is overlaid on an image of the quarter of the Death Star with its laser cannon. Beside the gameboard is the spinner, with R2 on it, and playing cards.
Another angle of the Escape From Death Star game board, plus spinner and playing cards.
Because at age 5 in 1977, seeing #StarWars on the big screen was a religious experience:
Itβs #StarWarsSunday!
Share something Star Warsβtoy, book, scene, characterβfrom any era! This is a positive space & itβs all good!
This week: the ESCAPE FROM DEATH STAR board game! Classic!
I donβt know that thereβs been any comic artist who was able to draw βregular people in regular clothingβ better than Joe Kubert.
Possibly David Mazzucchelli, but you can say that about pretty much any aspect of comic book art.
Young Blueberry volume 1 by Charlier & Moebius. A young Union soldier runs toward the reader over a muddy land strewn with hats and saddlebags, with soldiers following right behind. Art by Moebius.
This morningβs βnewβ comic read. A Charlier/Moebius classic, Young Blueberry!

It seems appropriate that I am reading the βDemon Bear Sagaβ for the first time, on this #SienkiewiczSaturday

I second all of this!
Great choice!
Top Shelf Friday time!
What's a comic in your collection that you love? β€οΈ
This week, THE DEVIANT vols. 1-2 by James Tynion IV and Joshua Hixson! A murder mystery as good as Brubaker/Phillips. Highest recommendation!

The Deviant: A Christmas Story, volumes 1 and 2, by James Tynion IV and Joshua Hixson. On book one we see someone in the middle distance dressed as Santa Claus, but with a bloody, disturbing mask covering his face, while a snow-covered landscape trails off toward the trees on a starlit night. On book two, we see a man in a Santa suit, the coat unbuttoned, blood spattered across his midsection, a hatchet in one hand, the mask in the other, with his face hidden in shadow. Behind him, a chain link fence and the silhouettes of bare trees trail off toward the starlit evening. Art by Joshua Hixson.
Amazing!
My choice this week is a recent book - THE DEVIANT, by James Tynion IV & Joshua Hixson. My 18yo son got these two volumes for me for Christmas, and it is a murder mystery that is as good as anything from Brubaker & Phillips, my favorite team in comics! Highest recommendation!
Enjoy!
