MRD (minimal/measurable/molecular residual disease) is a staple of #hematologic #cancer testing. We use sensitive assays to detect #tumour #DNA in the blood, for treatment response monitoring and relapse prediction. Soon we'll be doing this for solid tumours too. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Whole-genome sequencing in a large cohort of paediatric patients has a 9% secondary finding rate. My lab is just now transitioning our adult germline testing to a WGS backbone, and peds is coming soon, so I’m reading this with interest and some trepidation.
