New More in Common poll finds that 55% of British voters want Keir Starmer to prioritise "standing up to Trump", compared to just 27% who say he should prioritise working with him.
74% say they want British forces to have either no involvement in the Iran war or to just offer defensive cooperation.
Ooh let me let me - is it because the meat industry flooded the market with scare stories about processed foodds and paid influencers to wang on endlessly about high meat diets?
The Iranian girlsβ school was hit by a US tomahawk cruise missile. NPR has confirmed the footage.
The President of the USA is now openly threatening Iran with being the target of one of the greatest crimes in world history. Trump is saying he will destroy the basis of life for more than 90 million people.
He should be removed from office for this.
It is clear that they do not really think of them as people at all - simply targets in some international computer game.
The idea the North Sea is some great goldmine waiting to be tapped is entirely at odds with reality.
Why just China?
Strikes me that there are actual very few inter-generational points of culture at present, as everything is on-demand and individualised.
Scrapping North Sea windfall tax would not reduce UK energy bills, say experts
Everyone there accepted climate change and nature loss (at least in public) but I still get the sense many are in the shoot the messenger phase - angry at the thing asking for change. In contrast the most optimistic ppl where those who fully embraced the crises and to whom it has given purpose
Can't believe they are going to spend Β£350m making new potholes. Broken Britain.
JusticePumps.
Or indeed markets. βOil prices fell sharply after Trump indicated the war in Iran may be nearly overββ¦?
It wonβt work on everyone, nothing does, but it seems to me people want to be involved, want to do something in their hearts, but are lost in a sea of misinformation and too small actions and are easily rendered cynical and defeatist by the angry stuff on Facebook.
Hyper-localism too leads to confusion and lack of strategic thinking. I dunno where to take this thought, but it has reignited in me the belief that we need to get away from a purely retail and local climate comms - important though that is - and also inspire people with the scale and drama.
There is a narrative in climate action that it is best to engage though local action and that is probably true, but the bit that often seems missing is tying that to a larger sense of mission. So people will support the local orchard but be lost when it comes the renewables revolution.
And it has got me thinking and hypothesising. The lack of purpose has left many people adrift. Many old certainties about the kind of world we are in, the kind of food we should eat, the kind of landscape we should have etc are being fundamentally debated in light of these crises.

I was at a meeting last night, ostensibly on peat restoration. Bit of an odd meeting and not sure I came off very well BUT, one thing that struck me was how depressed and negative everyone seemed
We are not being as firm or as clear against the US as I would like, but even so Starmer keeping us very much on the sidelines of this looks like one of his smartest moves to date. β¬οΈ
Public support for US attack on Iran down 10 points since last week. 59% oppose to 25% support. Tory supporters now evenly split. Another Keminaissance triumph.
Itβs a fake. But I think the bigger point is that all of Allister Heath is a fake. But yes, the technology behind the ability to make such things terrifying
My kids saw it on Saturday and thought it was great. I have not yet seen as I dinner know it was about beavers.
This is really excellent - the creation of a register of 'options over land' will help show if developers are land banking, and allow communities and councils to better understand who controls land in their area.
Good work @matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social & MHCLG Land team!

I saw this a couple years back I think - there has been an ongoing project to restore wetlands in Finland to deter Russian invasion.
Huh. Alistair Heath looks correct on this one...
To a point - I think it's partly 'our' fault too. Our whole political culture is based on infantilising the public - no grown up conversation or debate is really allowed or encouraged.
Even longer since they provided a realistic explanation of our relationship with America.
