I’ve been working on what I call a mixed-media sculpture. As she became a character with a backstory I realized that only I know the stories behind my pieces, and dementia runs in the family. So I grabbed an empty journal from my shelf and am going to write out the stories for anyone to read.
I’m glad that I don’t work today. The return of cold weather has really aggravated my chronic pain. A day of television and reading is about all I can handle right now.
Yep. My late winter depression is kicking in like clockwork.
I’m on vacation! I don’t go back to work until next Friday. So far today I slept until noon, worked on an organization project, fed myself real food, and crocheted a bit on a sweater. I made a list of things I’d like to get done but know I’ll probably only finish like three things.
To everyone experiencing the winter storm right now - please be safe and warm. I’m worried about you. Stay home if at all possible.

I swear I felt an earthquake last night. At first I thought I was just shivering from a chill but things around me started to rattle and clink and my pets looked like they were ready to hide. If it was, this is the second one I’ve felt in twenty years.
I haven’t heard from either of my kids in four days proving to myself that I could die and no one would notice until I didn’t show up at work.
It’s cold out again after a week of nice weather. I can wear the sweater I just finished crocheting!

Last night at work I found out that I would have nothing to do tonight, so I took the day off. I’d like to get some housework done but I know better. I’ll be sitting on the floor with a snuggly bunny who wants all of my attention.

From the start of my shift at work and the end there is going to be a forty degree temperature drop. The weather headache is already starting and is going to be a monster.
I’m not sure why the Facts of Life theme song is playing in my brain today. I’m also not sure how I remember the words after all these years.
We have at least six inches of snow so far but hotels don’t close for bad weather. Looks like I’ll have a crappy adventure getting to work.
I keep starting and deleting posts because words are hard with so many emotions happening at once
I got my daily average activity report this morning - seventeen minutes. I must have only used my phone to select which podcast I wanted to listen to. Not bad.
Turkey and tamales for dinner, and pink confetti means I’ll have a granddaughter in the spring.
I’m going to my son and daughter-in-law’s house for dinner and the gender reveal of my grand baby. I’m nervous and excited and looking forward to good food.

I’ve been thinking the same thing lately.
Day off work! I’ve gotten two chores done, now it’s snuggle with the cats and bunny time for a little while. Later I’d like to work on a couple of projects but that depends on how much attention the fur babies want.
After 4 1/2 years I have new glasses. I can see! My vision has changed a lot, so it will take some getting used to, but I’m happy. I ordered them from Zenni because there’s no way could afford to get them from my eye doctor. Tri-focal lenses with astigmatism are too much, even with insurance.
Steven’s staircase quest is such king of the nerds behavior and I love it.
I have some news to share - I’m going to be a grandma! Even though I’m worried about the state of everything right now, I’m excited. The little one is due in April. I have so many ideas for things to make for the little one.
I’m listening to @radiofreeskaro.bsky.social talk about the spiral staircase. I also live in a one-story apartment but my cats would love a new place to climb and nap. Thanks for the idea that will now never go away unless I get one.
