Not sure if it's on hold because of the optics of the conflict of interest, or because EV's are "woke". Probably the later, the former seems unlikely, why start now?
It does look pretty skanky if you take it out of context. But to be fair, this was in the works for awhile. The Biden administration put out bids for armored EV trucks, and Tesla was the only one to respond. And the state department has put it on hold.
