Maybe Trump should unconditionally surrender

Nice talk by #Fareed Zakaria at #Brown University last night on India and broader topics. He has hope that despite its current autocratic bent, India will ultimately move in a Western, liberal direction. Sees the world at a crossroads, with the collapse of postwar syistem of int'l collaboration.

Just finished "Naming Names," #Victor Navasky's terrific book on the Hollywood blacklist. Must read for anyone wanting a definitive account of that dark period. The story is eerily relevant at a time so many in politics, academia, etc are shamefully choosing to collaborate with the Trump autocracy.

Great thinking- in the middle of a war we and Israel started, let’s piss off as many countries as we can.

Wish the media would stop saying, "there was no evidence of widespread #voter fraud" in 2024. I mean, was there any voter fraud at all? If not, say so. If there were a few isolated cases, say that. "No widespread fraud" seems to infer Dems did cheat and only the degree of fraud is in dispute.

To me, not a close call. Absolutely not. In no way, shape, or form should Democrats help Trump and Republicans out of the mess they are creating. I mean, winning elections has got to be a priority now.

Great to hear @jelaniya.bsky.social at #Brown University last niight, offering insights into Martin Luther King's thinking and reflections on how we can apply the lessons of that time to the current crisis in democracy. Kudos to Brown for sponsoring this timely event, its annual MLK Lecture.
