For 42 years, Comrags has been a mainstay of Canadian fashion. In August 2025, they announced they would be winding down operations, and in a beautiful gesture, Joyce and Judy chose to donate their overstock of textiles to support the Textile Museum.

A poster for the Textile Museum of Canada's fabric sale, with roughly quilted pieces scattered about. The sale is March 27-28th 2026 from noon to 5pm, and tickets are pay-what-you-wish. The Textile Museum's address is 55 Centre Avenue, Toronto ON M5G 2H5. Comrags gave us bolts & bolts of fabric to sell when they closed, and we've cut some of it into 2-3 metre lengths for grab & go and also have some still on the bolt that can be cut to order.

Iโm experimenting with fastening options for a second version of my belt pattern, while travelling this week.
Currently thinking to keep the advanced options out of the free pattern and save them for a low-price advanced upgrade pattern a little later. Not sure if thatโs a common practise at all?

It's my first pattern release of the year! Meet Assilag. Named for the Storm Petrel, Assilag features a gorgeous feather cable pattern that stretches between the top and bottom cuff of the mitts. It's super fun and will fly off your needles!

First person view of someoneโs lap. Theโr upper legs are clad in a knitted blue skits, lower legs have dark purple leggings, dark grey leg warmers and black leather boots.
Their left hand is pale and holds a circular knitting needle with about 10 rounds of ribbed knitting on them, in red yarn.
Invigilating at a gallery today has given me some moments to cast on.

Have so much paperwork stress today, that I have had to skip knitting group.
I don't even have a cast-on right now, that's how busy life is! And it's going to be fairly chaotic for the next two weeks, unfortunately. I'm definitely not an aspirational lifestyle vlogger! Whew!

Very directly at times - some people, especially women, die of choking, because they leave public places to try and politely hide their distress.
But indirectly by not speaking up soon enough when something that happens to us or others is wrong, too.

A flat lay arrangement of my hand knit socks on a wooden table. The socks are dark brown with purple and green accents, and thistle flower motifs. Around them are knitting needles, the remaining balls of yarn, the knit swatch, and two purple hyacinth flowers. (They were the closest thing to a purple thistle I could find at this time of year)
Yarn used: PIP Naturals and Colorwork by Baa Ram Ewe.
Last month I did my first test knit, The Cluaran Sock pattern by Grey Owl Knits. They fit really nicely and I think this is my new favorite heel type. ๐งถ๐งฆ๐๐ฟ
