Discuss games with the lyrical ludology podcast. Brought to you by Logan Timmins. 2024 winner at The Awards.
For those unfamiliar, Lyrical Ludology is my interview podcast all about the niche of 'lyric games' within in the TTRPG space.
Every few episodes I interview a new guest to try and answer the question, 'what is a lyric game?', and have a great time exploring all the different answers.
Gooood morning people of Bluesky β
After a heartening push from folks in my discord, I am launching a crowdfund for Season 2 of Lyrical Ludology!
Season 1 launched in 2024, and I am very proud of it. Season 2 promises to be just as good π€©

Sometimes the truths we need to tell will be blunt, hard to swallow, or look brutal to an outside observer. But for someone who's seen the darkest depths of human nature, I have also seen true altruism, and that is the paradox of humanity. Our choices make us who we are.
- We can never hope to embody 'perfect' representation of something for all people. Nor should we try. diverse human experience can't be distilled into any single perspective or character. We can only limit our negative impact, and handle difficult subjects with as much dignity as possible. (cont)
@mcmanlypants.bsky.social asked a good question at Ret-con this year: Is it possible to be fully unproblematic? I think the answer is no, because someone somewhere will always see flaws in your perspective. That's not a bad thing, though. We are all fallable, and will have blind spots, plus- (cont)
t4t m/m is always preferable, but transmasc tops (any type of partner), t4t m/f, and older characters preferred. I have a preference for depictions of body hair (pubic at minimum) regardless of gender if we're talking comics.

#transrightsreadathon is right around the corner. Consider my books and the works of other indie trans authors for your tbr this season!
Lots of feelings about the importance of taking up space as a minority today. the tl;dr is that those of us who are capable need to show up at events to interact with folks in person: #transwriter #writesky #supportyourlocalcon

OMG it does! I typically give myself from Nov. to March off and write very little if at all during that time.

Even though making comics didn't work out, I did find that I liked writing and switched mediums. I'm currently in the process of taking my old original comic and novelizing it. While it won't be quite how I envisioned, the story will still be told.
I worked on two webcomics fully by myself and never finished either. I love comics, but realized that I did not have the time or connections to make an indie webcomic work on my own. The one was a fan comic, but the other was an original story (cont)
Most things where consent/enjoyment is clear* (consent can be non-verbal). If people are talking during the sexy parts, I prefer it to be praise or at least caring at minimum. I'm pretty open if everyone involved is having a good time.
I know not everything on the internet is to my taste. I prefer softer/fluffier smut and a LOT of the stuff I see is harder kinks/darker stuff. I never want anyone to feel ashamed of something that's simply not my vibe. the phrase 'your kink is not my kink and thats ok' is so important to learn.
The #WIPSnips words for March 9th through March 15th. March 9th - screw; March 10th - chapter; March 11th - resident; March 12th - shimmy; March 13th - fight; March 14th - recommend; March 15th - dreary.
Here are the words for #WIPSnips for March 9th through March 15th!

Just got back from my first con as a guest. @retconnc.bsky.social went really well for my first 3-day event.
Happy Sunday. I am going to ask the masses nicely today.
Please write in Guitar Concerto in C Flat Major, Op. 12: Lucina for Best Novella in the Locus Awards. The public can do so and thus I'm asking for your help. Please consider helping an indie author get recognized.

I have to write in order or I lose the plot real fast. If I have to put in placeholder text for some reason, I'll write out in detail what I'd like to do for a scene and make a note to revise it later.
Not my project, but I'd like to boost the Trans Rights Readathon. I'd like to see higher participation among indie trans authors and readers this year, since there's increasing pressure to remove trans people from the public eye transrightsreadathon.carrd.co
a black and white typography edit that reads "i am making permanent choices because i want permanent changes." the text is in all caps and is printed over a opened case of tools. the image is textured with very small halftone dots

A lot of early advice I got was also focused on writing a smaller amount every day, or as consistently as possible, which has helped me signifigantly.
Taking breaks. I'm only just now understanding that I'm combo autism/adhd and working 30 minutes, then taking a 5 minute break helps me write much more consistently than trying to push through a whole hour or longer.
I work in a more general setting (pharm tech) but the losses still hurt my soul.
She sounds metal af.
And I just wanted to reiterate that the #LoveMyBook tag I've been using is intended to be shared and open for everyone. #writingcommunity It's an open invitation to gush and share your adoration of your own work. Have something you just find so perfect about your story? BE HAPPY! Share with us!
I love the last unicorn for many layered reasons. Partly for gender reasons, but but also for the way it treats herosim, acts of kindness, etc.
I have a couple of things I'm working on this year, but I've got a sci fi story I've picked up and put down multiple times with a trans fem android that I've not done much with for several years now.
