In this study we examine how human impacts and island features explain the prevalence of threatened bird species across islands globally.

We explored whether the negative effects of oil palm on bird communities could be reduced by spillover from nearby forest fragments
We found only a weak effect, highlighting that preserving large forest fragments and improving matrix permeability is key to protecting Amazonian biodiversity.
