Never mind where you stay, tell me how long you've spent in Scotland?

I think not. In the run up to the referendum from 2012 until 2014 BT were happy to promote the idea that oil would run out WITHIN 10 years.

Answer the point I made, not the point you would like to make.

North Sea Oil may well be in limited supply, but it is certainly not running out at the speed with which Better Together had the electorate believe in 2014.

Grand wee bar. In my student days I used to stay round the corner in Fowler Terrace.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Understood, and we both still have to wait and see which Scotland turns up.
I'm routing for Scotland the Brave not Scots wha haven't..๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I'm perfectly happy to relinquish my UK passport and live here in Scotland - with a Scottish passport.
I'll find out if the EU want me soon enough.

Whisky, my good man, whisky.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Then you'll just have to wait and see which Scotland turns up.๐Ÿคช

No, it's not, it's my porridge oats.๐Ÿ˜„

I'm Scottish and a strong supporter of Scottish independence. I've got a married daughter, living in England and happily bringing her family up there. I don't get any sense of Britishness when I visit and recently there's much more English identity to the fore. Shared values are disappearing.

Ah well, I imagine that suppliers of blue tents will be rubbing their hands with glee at this very minute.
Every cloud has a silver lining, as they say.๐Ÿคฃ

Thanks for that. Most charity shops have some but they're quite limited.
There's a specialist in Grasmere that has literally hundreds of jigsaws. I just don't know of any similar option in Scotland.

Okay I admit it - I'm old and boring and I like doing jigsaws. I also have a dislike of buying jigsaws (well most things) online. How come I can't seem to find a decent stockist of jigsaws in Scotland? Garden centres and the likes usually have a small selection but nothing very large.

Help!

But you appear to trust the British Press.

I must have been asleep during it's better spell. What time was that?

26.01.2026 16:54 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

So I gather but does that preclude the sensible option of the game being played somewhere in Scotland?

26.01.2026 14:19 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Polanski may have, but as I understand things the Greens are not run "top down". What's the grass roots opinion?

26.01.2026 14:17 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 1 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Even if it's an Ivorean home game, surely the two authorities involved could have arranged the fixture at a Scottish venue? The travel cost difference would be minimal.

26.01.2026 14:14 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Good question. I'm presuming that the SFA have some mega buck deal to justify this nonsensical decision.

26.01.2026 14:08 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You should be fine here then.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

If being rained on regularly at almost any time of the year is your thing, then welcome to Scotland, you will indeed find our weather amazing.

26.01.2026 13:48 ๐Ÿ‘ 2 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Unless the game is being played in Liverpool at the request of Cote d'Ivoire I can only assume that the SFA are raking in mega bucks for TV rights to this game. Strange way to treat home based Scots fans who give their support through thick and thin.

I keep seeing comments on this issue but I've yet to see any of these accounts named.

I most certainly don't believe that Andrew but whether you acknowledge it or your thought process still exists in that time frame.
Scotland is a country, pre-existing the United Kingdom and at some point in the near future you are going to have to adjust to that idea.

22.01.2026 15:58 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Scotland isn't a territory, Andrew, it is a country. Get your mindset out of the days of the British Empire.

22.01.2026 15:31 ๐Ÿ‘ 5 ๐Ÿ” 3 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2 ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

Well on the obvious point that irrespective of which issue is being decided, if the English majority want something their voting numbers will always count.

22.01.2026 15:27 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Well Scots certainly are, Andrew, and that is largely down to the undemocratic way in which the will of the English electorate was imposed on us.
