PRESS RELEASE: Sean Orr Files Defamation Suit Against Ken Sim Photo: Sean Orr outside the Law Courts, March 10, 2026.
βCOPE has Sean's back. So does Vancouver. Weβre going to ensure heβs re-elected with a commanding mandate.β

maybe it was the https in front of it. suekensim.ca itself should work. thanks for sharing lindsay!
SueKenSim.ca has raised nearly $8,000 in less than 5 hours.
Lawsuits are expensive. Unlike Ken, Sean wasn't elected as a wealthy man with friends in high places. But he does have you.
If you don't have much to give, give $16 (the number of times Ken apologized in one interview). If you have more, please give more.

damn sean and i left the cake at city hall
Sean Orr has filed legal action against Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim for saying to media without evidence that Orr was dealing drugs on Christmas Day
its a tragedy that the wolf parade show is *after* the election this time
ABC Lenny Zhou deleted #WeChat video (smearing ALL #Vanpoli opposition councillors as drug users & drug dealers) & apologized
But in English only
Meaning thousands of Mandarin Chinese speakers in Vancouver may not know this is a lie. Mike Tan

Mike Tan, running for a OneCity nomination, offers his perspective on Mayor Ken Sim/Cllr Zhouβs manipulation of the Chinese community against Cllr @seanorr.bsky.social
This is such an important point: the toxic drug crisis is not an issue of the DTES or of Vancouver, the plurality of deaths occur in towns across BC. It's easy to ignore when you assume it's just some group of "others" dying on the street. But it's not. It's your neighbours. Dying in their homes.
Sean Orr is all but certain to run for council instead of mayor, but him getting thousands more views for his announcement than Azaroffβs ultimatum post is an affirmation to COPE supporters that they have their own leverage in these conversations
if the city is removing these important ways for residents to communicate concerns to the government they should just post the $450,000 per year city manager donnie van dykβs address so we can talk to him in person
Been covering DULF's constitutional challenge for @thetyee.ca this week. Crown prosecutors have tried to poke lots of small holes in what founders Eris Nyx and Jeremy Kalicum were doing. Nyx and Kalicum have largely defended themselves saying they were doing the best they knew how at the time.
i need you to put all these into a book
Lenny characterized using ABCs own surveyβs results as racist and yes, βcolonialβ.
when you hear city councillors like @lisadominato.bsky.social say that this budget reduces the financial pressure on seniors, people with disabilities, and families β remember all of those people can defer their property taxes indefinitely. this is a bad argument I hear too often.
what in the world
The Cowichan hysteria keeps getting dumber. Now cities are coming out to make statements about old land claims - if the news is going to cover it, they should mention it's been on the First Nation's website for nearly a decade. It's not some big secret. 1/2 globalnews.ca/news/1153572...
the last time i saw hockey at pacific coliseum evander kane was good
Pretty proud of this one
Vancouver's last all-night drop in centre for street-based sex workers is facing an uncertain future as the city considers changing how its funded.
If the KCS closed there would be no other drop in centres for sex workers, anywhere in the city. That's dangerous.

no fund city
Health Canada convened an independent expert advisory group in 2020 to provide guidance on safer supply. Health Canada heavily redacted its final report, but unredacted version obtained by CBC shows the expert group said drug crisis is driven by prohibition and recommended expansion of safer supply
very impressed by COPE Councillor Orr for reporting summaries of every speaker for this budget, and actually staying until the end unlike most ABC councillors
my crude count is there were less than 10 in favour, roughly 260 opposed, with around 330 more speakers to go.
liveskying?!?!?
Austerity budgets are always about short-term gains, and long term losses. Vancouver's City Council is voting on a budget that will save little and cost the city much. stewartprest.substack.com/p/vancouver-...
