AI geniuses think games from a prompt is the ultimate expression of user generated content but they don't get that Minecraft and Roblox work because those things give you a broad canvas within a very tightly defined framework. And most users don't even engage with that stuff.

Exactly. Decades of game development have shown time and time again that players will optimise the fun out of anything if they're able. Being able to solve any enjoyable problem in a game by having the ability to wish it away will make this tech boring to 90% of players in an afternoon.

If I go to a restaurant I want to order something that the chef has determined with taste and skill is worth having. I don't want the chef to stand next to me and add things to the plate while I'm eating at my request, because then I'm not focused on enjoying my food.

The whole premise of it, even if it worked, is absurd. "You can tell it a game you want to play and then it'll make it for you while you play it" is not something many players at all would actually enjoy.

A big shout out to all 11,500 folks across the creative industries who spoke up last year against the government's plans to give away our IP to big tech and AI grifters.
With nearly 90% outright rejecting the government's plans, the House of Lords noticed this, and align with it wholeheartedly.

honestly with all of the time that No Way Home spent on rehabilitation, that movie missed a trick by not having a bit where Tobey's Peter Parker compliments a guy's outfit and the guy goes "thanks, my husband made it for me" and then Tobey turns to the camera and goes "and I support that"

Iβm going to be around the Gardens a bunch today. Are you a dev? Would you like to say silly, weird, or unhinged things about babies on camera? Would you like a tiny alien baby as a gift?
Letβs make magic. Ping me if you want to take a few minutes to be part of BABY HISTORY.

When I was like 18 my brother (about a year older) threw a house party and this girl he was friends with came into my room, sat on my bed, and started asking me way too enthusiastically about this zombie book I had on my shelf and I just lent her the book and went back to what I was doing.

This image shows the character Pixem, from our game Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator, reflected in their monitor. They looked shocked at what they're seeing. It is a screenshot from the game Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator showing the planet Infernus Axion. There are two post-it notes on opposite sides of the monitor. One is a crude drawing of a boat and above it is written "do it 4 me". Across from that is another that says "short that baby" and the symbol for the timer in the game.
TFW Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator gets a dailies update that requires you to trade on Infernus Axion while thereβs an Ethics Protest.

A page of an instruction booklet for an office chair. Large text at the top reads "After Care Tips." The tips are things like "you should clean your office chair at least once a month" and "vacuum the seats and backrest, getting in all the crevices"
I cannot stress enough that, if you and your partner are engaging in unconventional play, how important these steps are.

The plot of that movie is literally "Ash must convince a child that her mom really is dead" and at one point Brock does unfortunately hit on that child but it is overall a really visually interesting and emotionally satisfying little movie. Shout-out to "it's like alphabet soup without the soup"

how did people simultaneously think that clair obscur shipped with a tiny team of mostly novices (which I'd dispute a bit anyway but not the point) and also think they had the time and resources to engineer it all in C++

This is partly coming from a place of frustration with Unreals weirder quirks but I also have no idea why you would use it in the first place (besides high end rendering I guess) if you were just going to cut against the grain it provides whilst doing so. That's nuts

My most fundamental understanding of the C++/Blueprint relationship is that C++ is supposed to facilitate blueprints because that's what Unreal likes and it basically immediately streamlines production pipelines for anyone else in the project. What are people doing otherwise??
